Dangers of Root Canals - was homeopathy and root canal treatment

So many problems with root canals................may not be resolved
without removing the tooth.......sorry you just went through that without
adequate information
It very well could become a maintaining cause due to the below and not
something homeopathy can treat or cure until it is removed

Root Canal Therapy

Sydney. NSW 2000 Ph: (02) 9264-5195 Fax: 9283-2230
Dr. Robert Gammal is the author of a booklet entitled Bio Compatible
Denistry Version 3, 1999. You may be able to obtain a copy by writing
to him. I don't know the cost. Dr. Gammal says in his introduction:
'We believe that it is the right of the patient to choose the treatment they
wish, the materials which are placed into their bodies and to obtain as
much information as possible with which to make an informed decision.'
This booklet addresses the question of root canal therapy on page 62 of
this booklet.

Root canals often have still dead material and bacteria trapped inside
which leak poisons into the system. There are books written about the
subject: "Root Canal Cover-Up" by G.E. Meinig (ISBN 0-945196-19-9). You
can look at the following websites:

Nothing better than a good example. I had major dental work done in the
early 1980's, including two root canals. I started getting sick more
often, flu-like symptoms for weeks and on a regular basis. I was checked
inside and outside, nothing was wrong with me. So it must have been all
in my head (and how right were they!). I started looking at alternative
healing methods, came to study homeopathy because of my health problems
(a blessing in disguise). Saw some good homeopaths who could alleviate
the problems for some time but never could have them disappear. Last
year I came to the conclusion that, since nothing else made sense, my
root canals might have been the culprits. In February of this year I had
my root canals removed and everything cleaned out. Since that time I
have been free from all my previous symptoms....
Your endodontist will tell you that root canals are safe. Some probably
will, some won't. Ask me!

"Antimicrobial activity of four root canal sealers against endodontic
pathogens.
Lai CC, Huang FM, Yang HW, Chan Y, Huang MS, Chou MY, Chang YC.

Taichung, Taiwan.
The antibacterial effects of various types of widely used endodontic
sealers have not been compared systematically on facultative or
obligate anaerobic endodontic pathogens. The aim of this study was to
evaluate the antimicrobial properties of four commonly used
endodontic sealers: two epoxy-resin-based sealers (AH26, AH plus),
one zinc-oxide eugenol-based sealer (N2), and one calcium hydroxide-
based sealer (Sealapex). The testing microbes were four facultative
anaerobic species (Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus sanguis,
Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus) and four obligate
anaerobic species (Porphyromonas gingivalis, Porphyromonas
endodontalis, Fusobacterium nucleatum, and Prevotella intermedia).
The freshly mixed sealers were placed into the prepared wells of agar
plates inoculated with the test microorganisms. After varying periods
of incubation (2 days for facultative anaerobic species and 7 days
for obligate anaerobic species), the zones of growth inhibition were
observed and measured. All the sealers were distinctly different from
each other in their antimicrobial activity. The sealers showed
different inhibitory effects depending on the types and bacterial
strains. N2 containing formaldehyde and eugenol proved to be the most
effective against the microorganisms. The extreme antimicrobial
potency of this root canal sealer must be weighted against its
pronounced tissue toxic effect."
