Hi,
Several years ago I talked to someone who was working on vocabulary
for homeopathic transcription in the context of of medical
transcription. Does any one know about such efforts. This would be
used by a voice to computer text in a program such as Dragon Speaking
Naturally.
Thanks,
Ellen

Be very careful with using Dragon Speaking Naturally - I tried it with a book I was writing and it produced a bunch of incoherent garble. MONEY WELL WASTED

Hi,
Thank Bob for your warning. What version were you using? My sister
has version 5 and I suspect that there are problems. They are up to
version 9. But it is a sin to sell something that produces garbble.
Also, the mic used seems to make a big difference. Your computer
makes its own noise and you have to get around it to get a good
recording of sound. I have found this with recording book notes. I
am reallly not sure that it is appropriate for making case notes.
Best,
Ellen

Thought I threw it in the garbage, but found it. I have version 7. I used their mic and head set provided...... and it was $129 + taxes close to $150, not to mention the lost opportunity and time. I e-mailed the company, but had no reply (Iam I suprised).

I use version 9 all the time. I use it for my case notes etc. You have to train it again if it is not getting your words correctly. I use a good headphone and mic all in one. Kathy

Kathy thank-you for the feedback. May I ask, are you using the headphone that comes with the packaged software? Also, I have a feeling that different people could have more variation in the way that they speak.
Best,
Ellen

No, I use KOSS headphones. They are not expensive but they are a great product.
