Hi, I'd appreciate any help with this one.
6 year old girl. Although initially shy, she's vivacious, bubbly, playful and very affectionate. She came for concentration issues, the Ritalin issue had been raised. The parents seemed to think she wasn't too bright - my impression was that she's very bright, very sharp. She did some very interesting, intricate drawings while in the clinic, and learned her way around my computer in around 5 minutes, asking intelligent questions along the way. She did very well on Phosphorous.
In the summer she was at a horseriding camp, and had an outbreak of small warts on the abdomen, left side. Soft warts, colourless, starting as a small point getting bigger. Not itching, not painful. The doctor burned them off, and they came for an appt. a couple of days later. I warned them that the warts would probably grow back, and they should contact me if that happened before going to the doctor. I didn't want to give a remedy till the picture cleared after the medical procedure - all I could see were small red marks from the procedure. Well the warts grew back and the mother took the child to have them burned off again, and they started growing back again - at which point the mother contacted me. Very frustrating.
I gave Baryta Carb 2-3 days ago - the child also drools while concentrating, and there were some other symptoms that fitted. There was some improvement in her general well being, but the parents reported the warts have spread to her face.
Does anyone have any recommendations - both in terms of the process and in terms of remedies?
Thanks,
Vera

The parents seemed to think she wasn't too bright
--------why did tehy think so if you had the opposite feeling
concentrating,

what other symptoms?

You would have to get some more generals- or symptoms from other areas
apart from mind and drooling-
past acute problems could guide you
If Baryta Carb seems to be good just stay with it then-

Parents are comparing this child to an older sibling who is very bright in more acceptable ways. I find this quite common, that the parents think the second child is dim, but just don't recognise his or her intelligence because it manifests in different ways.
Bar-C isn't my ultimate remedy of choice, I prefer Phos for this child, but I'm not sure the Phos has any relevance for the warts. Also I don't know how much to take the possible horse contact trigger into account.
Can't post more details on this case, but thanks for input.
Regards,
Vera

Rochelle,
Do you think there's any possibility that the Phos could have triggered the warts?

Only if it has been a way of pushing toxins out of a more diseased organ than the skin.

It is a possibility that Phos might cause this... since it can cure
it... I have used Phos, Causticum, Calc, Thuja in molluscum... the
remedy is more based on symptoms than on the warts themselves and so
if you think a remedy is indicated just go ahead and give it-

The benefit with dealing with children is that we can give any
remedy without worrying too much about undue aggravation ( since
they carry less past life baggage) and also the ease with which we
can assess any change. Even if there is aggravation locally if the
child improves generally we can observe that very easily and so
persist with the right medicine.

Don’t know if anyone else has had this happen but in several cases I have treated for molluscum – there has been a worsening first – so now I always warn parents that more molluscum may come out before they all go away – its almost like they are ‘seeded’ and need to express all the ‘seeds’ before a total clearing can take place!! I have changed the remedy in the early days then come back to the one I started with – but later and hey presto they are all gone – now I don’t interfere with action of the one that brings them out – I just repeat it as needed (there has been concomitant improvements in emotional or physical plane – and I use these as markers for repetitions – ie when they improvements stop or symptoms return I repeat. All I know is that I am having problems getting rid of them with patients lately. They used to go very quickly but now they are not. They are either becoming more resistant to homeopathy or my case taking skills have got worse :-)
