treating mother and nursing child

Hi,
I'm treating a mother and child, the child is 1.5 years old and still nursing. I gave the child Bryonia which she took 2-3 times directly, which was helpful to her, then I gave the mother Gels, which was helpful to her but must also have reached the child through the breastmilk. There didn't seem to be negative effects for the child, but some of the positive actions of the Bryonia seemed to withdraw a bit.
Now I have a dilemma - I want the child to get the Bry which seems best for her, and I want to continue with Gels for the mother - but since the mother is nursing, it means the child is getting both remedies. I'm thinking of going ahead with it anyway. What do people out there think?
Regards,
Vera

First make sure if the lessening of the effect is not natural and
may be you need to repeat the remedy.

I would suggest continuing both until there is a clear and distinct
interaction between the remedies and the mom's remedy clearly
interferes. If not and if the child's remedy is still indicated and
you just see some flagging off its action you can repeat the child's
remedy.

Also if you see the mom's remedies causing a proving in the child
then is the time you want to see if child's condition has priority
over the mother's and may be mother's treatment could wait.

Otherwise remember that there are things in mother's milk that could
interfere with treatment apart from mom's homeopathic remedy...

But in general, given the fact the simillimum is the hardest to
antidote, I would still continue the status quo...

If you were using chemicals I'd say the mother could dose the child but
you're not - it's energy only.

Hi Irene,

Two questions:

Chemicals, similar to the food the mother eats affecting the milk she produces? (onions, spices, etc.)

And one on energy: when two energies come together, doesn't the stronger one prevail?

Thanks,

Leilanae

but

If energy can be diluted, shaken and potentized and energized more by
potetization and imparted onto globules, can be antidoted by being
near smelly naphtha balls, such energy probably can also go from
mother to child -

I have noticed that medicinal effect goes from mother to breast fed
babies

The physical laws of conservation of energy are maintained.
Making globules does not involve diluting the energy - it involves
adding energy (by succussion).

Have you ever made a remedy from scratch?
If not I suggest that it can be quite a good example of how and where
energy is added in the process.
Yes and no doubt if the mother is passing smelly naphtha balls through
the milk, that may antidote the remedy that is active in the child.
But mother's milk is not usually strong flavored and a good simillimum
is hard to antidote, so mother's milk should not normally antidote it -
or perhaps the remedy chosen is less well matched than it needs to b.
By what method?
If you take a remedy and stand next to me, that does not mean I get a
dose of your remedy!
Even if I stood near your remedy or held it,. that does not make it a
remedy homeopathic to me, and my system is likely to do a zero response.

The remedy that matters here is the one the child gets.
In what way?

The only way this can happen is through treatment of a pregnant female,
which then has an effect on the fetus/es due to healthier results for
the mother.
Similarly, a healthier mother will pass healthier milk to her nursing baby.
The effect is indirect, as the mother's life force is separate from the
child's.

These may antidote the mother's remedy of Gels if it is a poor match. It
takes a lot to antidote a good simillimum.
I don't know what spices go trough milk, but again - it takes a lot to
antidote a good simillimum so the child's Bry should be fine if it is a
good match.

stronger one prevail?>

Depends whether they are similar energies.
The mother is in Gels state - not Bry state - so Bry will have no effect
on the mother and Gels will have none on the child - not that either is
getting the other's remedy!
The homeopathic cancelling of energies (or stronger one overtaking
the weaker one) occurs when two *similar* energies meet and cancel. The
effect does not occur with dissimilar energies.

I would see it as a mistake to consider the two remedies to be affecting
the individuals not being dosed. Separate life forces are getting
separate remedies.
I would act on the appropriate dosing of each remedy for each
individual. That one is nursing from the other is a separate issue in my
book, and is only perhaps relevant as regards strong chemicals in the
diet or milk.

That's how I see it.

The whole thing is very interesting. To chart out the history so far:
The child got Bryonia at the end of August. Child is generally calm and sweet but can have rages and tantrums, and was at the time not sleeping, would go to sleep and after one hour wake constantly throughout the night. In addition constipation and painless umbilical hernia. Heavy perspiration especially on the head while nursing and at night. Bryonia helped with all this within two or so doses. (child has received Borax, Calc, and other remedies in the past which didn't help, Cham has not been given but is a possibility).
Then I treated the mother with Gels in Sept, also just one or two doses. Extreme fear of flying, many other fears causing her to "freeze" up, paralysed with fear. Repping didn't show the Gels on her other symptoms but it seemed very strong. The Gels helped the mother a lot, the mother was calmer, the child became calmer. You could say that was the Gels, but you could also say this is common sense, if the mother is calmer the child will be calmer. Child sleeping generally better during the night.
During Oct, child's symptoms started coming back - perspiration, constipation. Constipation is in the form of a very large, well formed stool which seems too large for the child to pass. Nights are still much better than before. Gave the child Bry again, all symptoms improving.
To me it really seems to be two separate life forces, and although I've told the mother not to take Gels on the same day as the child gets Bry, they do need the two remedies. One of the effects of the Bry when originally given was that the child nursed less - which again seems to stress the separateness. Also Bry has absolutely no connection to the mother.
I don't know if either of these remedies is the ultimate be-all and end-all simillimum for these two people. I suppose you could also see it that if the mother does not receive the Gels, her untreated fearful energy in itself could antidote the Bry in the child through the nursing. I don't see how the Bry remedy in the child could antidote the Gels in the mother. However, the Bryonia state that the child is in is something else in the world that is difficult for the mother to relate to.
I feel it's important to understand the theory behind treatment in order to understand what's going on and what to do next. This one seems difficult to keep tabs on though! I will ask the mother to monitor the child closely after the mother takes Gels, to check for any signs that the Bry is not working any more, and go on from there.
Thanks for all input,
regards,
Vera

Hi Irene,

I'm not arguing, just thinking if certain food, onions, garlic, spices are passed thru the milk to the baby, upsetting it's digestion, the remedy could be passed thru too.

Now I'm wondering how Camph (almost a universal antidote) works???
