Nothing to speak of...
Here's from Cook's Physiom.(?):
" Mel - honey [Mel.]
Honey is best when allowed to drain from the comb; pressure of the
comb obtains a larger quantity, but an inferior quality. At first it is
a thin fluid, usually transparent and yellowish; but by age it slowly
becomes granular, and finally gets almost like suet. It contains
saccharine materials in abundance, united with a peculiar acid
principle.
This article is used largely as a table sweet, but is sometimes
employed in medicine. It is demulcent, and at the same time moderately
stimulant to the respiratory mucous membranes; and also acts upon the
bowels, often proving cathartic, and sometimes griping. The principal
use made of it is in combination with an infusion of sage or sumac
berries or borax, for hoarseness and recent catarrhs. It is also
employed with vinegar tincture of lobelia and other expectorants, to
make oxymels."
Snelling:
" Mel [Mel]
(Honey.)
In the sixth volume of the NORTH AMERICAN JOURNAL OF HOMEOPATHY,
page 521, we find a recommendation of honey in strictures of the
urethra. An inveterate case of stricture was palliated by means of
equal parts of honey and sugar, with which the patient sweetened his
tea."
Mel-c-s (cum sal):
Boericke: " Prolapsus uteri and chronic metritis, especially when
associated with subinvolution and inflammation of the cervix. The
special symptoms leading to its selection is a FEELING OF SORENESS
ACROSS THE HYPOGASTRIUM FROM ILEUM TO ILEUM. Uterine displacements, and
in the commencement of metritis. Sensation as if bladder were too full.
Pain from sacrum towards pubes. Pain as if in ureters.
Third to sixth potency. Honey for itching of anus and worms."
Choudhuri: : Men cum sale [Mel-c-s.]
It means honey with salt. It is supposed to be a splendid remedy
for prolapsus uteri when associated with chronic metritis. Symptoms of
sub-involution and inflammation of the cervix are also associated with
the above complaints. I have not used this remedy and hence am not in a
position to pass any verdict on it. Its chief indications are (a) a
feeling of soreness across hypogastrium from ilium to ilium, (b)
sensation as if bladder were too full, (c) pain from sacrum towards
pubis."
That's about it...
Ah, the glories of cut-and-paste!
