Hi Sheri,
No - *dilutiion + succussion* raises the potency resp. in the LMs
dilution + succussion plus spreading on the globules.

Still, he did in $ 247 talk about raising the "dynamization" somewhat,
which nowadays we call potency. So far you are right.

But - in his own work he always, after getting done with one batch of
solution- for the next bach of solution he gave that remedy in a
*lower* potency - (in those cases where he stayed with the same
remedy or gave this remedy again after an intermediate) .

Actually logic behind it is easy to understand:

He did not want to give the identical potency of the solutiion more
than once. The only way to change it is to *raise" the potency a
little - there is no way one can lower it.

So it seems he went in a way: potency Cx, potency C(x+ just a little),
Potency C (quite a lot lower than x) - i. e. say 10 tiny steps up then
a jump down to a much lower step.

Once again an example: He'd give Sulphur C 30 to start out with, make
it into a solution, have the patient use this solution (or a dilution
of it) stirring or succussing it before each time he takes it. All
this until the next appointment. Then re-takes the case, If he
decided to stay with Sulphur he would then give the C 27. Same
procedure, then C 24....

He practically never gave potencies higher than C 30 and he
practically always started out with the C 30 - by which he precluded
the raising of potencies right from the beginning.

However, he never taught that you must not! raise the potency instead
of lowering it. He just taught you must! change it somewhat. So he
left this matter to the individual homeopath.
