Hi,

Just got the sonogram confirming a now 5 mm stone in the lower part of
the "major calyx", the larger compartment just before the stone enters
the renal pelvis and finally into the ureter. It was 4 mm in January.

The doctor told me to drink water at night. He didn't say throughout
the night. Once I start feeling the stone, then drink through out the
night. He mentioned something about keeping the mid body around the
kidney warm. But it is summer here. In the morning, I am to roll
slowly back and forth. It is on the right side, so presumably rolling
to the left side encourages gravity to work.

The doctor said the water will help the kidney to swell during the
night. A dry kidney will just hold on to the stone and make it
bigger. I sleep on my back in one position so the excess mineral
collects in the major calyx. Rolling when I wake up will help the
kidney to expel that stone. Also, I try to avoid sleeping on my back,
but that's not natural to me. We sleep on tatami mats, so I am not
bothering my husband, but I imagine this would not work in a double
bed.

Anyway, I sipped a 6 c of my general homeopathic remedy during the
first night. I definitely felt the stone.

The doctor said the way to tell the difference between feeling the
stone and muscular aching is 1.) compare left and right side. The
stone side should hurt 2.) the pain should be further out from the
spine than that row of short muscles along the spine.

Last night I did the same thing but did not sip the 6c. Much less
pain. So definitely the homeopathy will help.

Once it goes into the ureter, don't call the hospital THE DOCTOR
SAID!!!. All they do is give morphine. Instead drink a lot of water.
That is the only thing that is going to help the ureter to not spasm
out its natural peristaltic motion.

I felt relieved to meet a down to earth doctor. Unfortunately he is
retired and was just filling in for the regular mass production
hospital doctor.

Tell you if this works. Any other ideas?

By the way, I get gout pain in my big toe upper joint and that is more
active with the above protocal too. The pain radiates and goes down,
so I tried Berberis and Lyc before. The general remedy seem more
productive, but I was not doing it with water and rolling before.

Best,
Ellen

Gout can be relieved, sometimes at least, by cherries—either fresh or frozen (a handful a day) or even 100% cherry juice. My mother-in-law had gout badly recently and it went away after a few days of a daily glass of 100% cherry juice. Is that suppressive, I wonder? She was very happy to be relieved of the pain. No way she would ever take H. Teresa (Northern VA, USA)

A few years ago, Water s-o-t-r had sent some of his experiences with
having people use potato peel broth to remove kidney stones. For some
reason it seems to have vanished from my computer--does anyone have or
remember that? I think the gist, tho, was to make a big pot of broth
from lots of potato peelings, and drink lots of that. I can't remember
the details... He *said* that he had seen it over and over work
dramatically well, dissolving kidney stones and removing pain in a
matter of (?)few hours??--and it seems a harmless enough thing to
try...

Hi Ellen,

There maybe some help with keeping it at bay too, with the suggestion
from this website:
http://www.bawarchi.com/health/potato.html

"The magnesium present in the potato also exerts a beneficial effect
in lowering blood pressure. The other use of magnesium is that it
prevents calcification of tissue like kidney and in over coming
formation of stones in the bladder."
Maybe increase the magnesium-bearing veggies in your diet - and not
just the potato - to be sure it doesn't reoccur ?

Good luck, and please let us know how you get on !

Ellen,

Some non-Homeopathic kidney stone protocols for you:
Get a Six-pack of Classic Coca Cola. Drink it all at ROOM TEMPERATURE within 2 hours. Then take a can of asparagus and blend it in a blender (with its broth) and drink that down. Your stones will come out pretty soon thereafter. I know of two sufferers that did this and got complete relief.

Or try this:

Wow, Sara, I will file this one away!!!
Just a note re the Coke, I would guess that it's best to let it go flat
before drinking? I don't know *why* carbonation should be a problem,
but some people seem to feel that it can be; also I'm recalling that
Edgar Cayce for certain conditions (and I can't recall which) used to
advise coke *syrup*, diluted half-and-half with water--in other words,
flat Coke. (Perhaps it's the phosphoric acid that does the job???)

it seems to me the cure is worse than the disease with coke

altho the web site about jump & bump sounds safer and more
reasonable. i have saved that site for reference. thanks

Interesting connection, and seems reasonable.
Maybe worth noting that different magnesium salts apparently have
different (slightly?) physiological roles, which would be a reason to
favor getting it from foods (which probably contain a mixture) rather
than pills (which is so easy :-(( ), and *might* mean that some
foods would be more effective than others--I am only guessing about
this...
