practicing homeopathy in USA

Can Homeopaths from USA give the details on "License to practice"
homeopathy in each of the 50 States in USA especially for a person
who had H-1 visa and practical experience for a decade in India
having RMP certificate and 12 years of experience.
The information I gathered is as follows. (It may be useful for the
needy)
1) Homeopathic medicines (drugs) in the USA are recognized under
the 1938 Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act and, therefore, come under the
regulatory purview of the US FDA at the national or federal level.
2) The practice of medicine, whether allopathic or homeopathic, is
regulated by the individual fifty states via their respective Medical
Licensing Boards. . To find out what these requirements are for a
particular state, contact the State Attorney General's Office in the

A. The definition of the practice of medicine should include
using the designation Doctor, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of
Osteopathy, Physician, Surgeon,Physician and Surgeon, Dr., M.D., D.O.
or any combination thereof in the conduct of any occupation or
profession pertaining to the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of
human disease or condition unless such a designation additionally
contains the description of another branch of the healing arts for
which one holds a valid license in the jurisdiction.
B. The medical practice act shall not apply to
i. students while engaged in training in a medical school approved by
the state medical board;
ii. those providing service in cases of emergency where no fee or
other consideration is contemplated, charged or received;
iii. commissioned medical officers of the armed forces of the United
States and medical officers of the United States Public Health
Service or the Veterans Administration of the United States in the
discharge of their official duties and/or within federally controlled
facilities, provided that such persons who hold medical licenses in
the jurisdiction should be subject to the provisions of the act and
provided that all such persons should be fully licensed to practice
medicine in one or more jurisdictions of the United States;
iv. those practicing dentistry, nursing, optometry, podiatry,
psychology or any other of the healing arts in accord with and as
provided by the laws of the jurisdiction;
v. those practicing the tenets of a religion or ministering to the
sick or suffering by mental or spiritual means in accord with such
tenets, provided that no person should be exempt from the public
health laws of the jurisdiction or the federal government;
3) The certification offered by NASH, CHC, HANP, ABHt etc in USA is
not a license to practice homeopathy and certificate holder is not be
eligible to be called a physician or to diagnose or treat as such.
Licenses can only be granted by states or provinces.

•DHt -Diplomate in Homeotherapeutics by the American Board of

•for NDs, (Doctors of Naturopathy), DHANP-Diplomate of the
Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians Offering board
certification in classical homeopathy to qualified naturopathic

on Homeopathic Certification), www.homeopathicdirectory.com
• for RSHom (NA) anyone who completes a recognized school of
homeopathy (Registered by North American Society of Homeopaths,

4) Currently, only the states of Arizona, Connecticut, and Nevada
have separate licensing boards for medical physicians who practice
homeopathy. Some individuals in the United States practice
homeopathy, without a medical degree. This is regulated separately in
each state. A person should research hoping to practice in a
particular state. Even though I read details in websites of
different state medical boards, i could not understand anything.
5) To practice homeopathy in a state we may need to consult a
licensed homoeo professional to know the detials.
6) Those who have certificate and do not happen to be licensed to
practice homeopathy will have to ensure that their clients have been
made aware of the status of homeopathic practice in that state or
province.
My queries are
1) Is the License to practice homeopathy compulsory in most of the
states for Homeopaths
2) Is there any state where license is not required? Or is there any
way to do practice without it.
3) Can Homeopaths from different states of USA( Take this
opportunity to provide the details on "License to practice
homeopathy" in their State
4) What is the importance of certificates issued by NASH, CHC, HANP,
ABHtare they recognized in any state. Which one is better for the
novice.
5) what is the fate of a person who comes to USA on H-1 visa to
practice homeopathy in USA
6) why can't all these different orgs come under one umbrella and Do
something.
7) CHC sasy " in the dozen or so states that license naturopathic
Physicians (ND or NMD), homeopathy is included within their scope Of
practice". What are these states?
