ETHICS: Patient Confidentiality

Dear Colleagues

Over the past couple of days I became aware that in some of the cases reported on this site PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY was very sadly not observed.

I must say that this was one of the points drummed into us during our training and it is part of DUTY of CARE to the patients and their relatives. I think we must all become more aware of the problems it can cause for the Homoeopath who reports the case and also the patient whose case is being reported.

Additionally, not all of those who visit this site are friends of Homoeopathy and they would be looking for just such lapses.

Please therefore AVOID:
Using any full names, even first names - Use initials and change this so that they do not represent the patient, or better still use numbers or mix the two.
Do not identify locations!
Do not identify the person by their detailed profession/place of work.
[Please feel free to add to these]

So as an example, I would use the following:
WR234 is male 45 and lectures in English in one of the universities.

I wish us all Good Healing

Soroush
