I have used it in a few cases to narrow down remedies when I already have a number remedy candidates clearly in mind. It works, but I use it because I see a hint that it will work. I doubt that my limited understanding would work in every situation. I have not taken his seminars, so I probably have many reservations about my interpretation of his books. I take it you are talking about the vital sensation (gestures) from the Sensation in Homeopathy. I use the plant categories a lot, but I am still very standard. For example Hyos, Stram Bell make a nice group (standard) but the rest of the family (that I know) does not relate to them as well as that core group. In studying new remedies (I am just a student) it often helps to draw relationships between remedies through family relationships, but I always think it through in a very standard way. If the plant family relationship is clearly there, then I remember. I don't just take Sankaran's word for it. The active passive breath of action in miasmatic descriptions are very helpful to me. But, with many cases, I am still feeling very uncertain about miasmatic analysis.

I've used it when the case is really unclear. Sometimes I use it after taking the case a-la-Hahnemann just to confirm.

I used it with resounding success after an inspirational presentation
Rajan made in Birmingham last year.

Whilst it was still fresh in my mind, I saw a patient who had been
coming for a while who had only progressed a bit on the remedies I
had chosen for her.

I noticed a recurrent gesture and on asking her to expand on the
feeling behind the gesture, prescribed Theridion, despite there being
few of her symptoms in the mm.

She has changed out of all recognition. Her expression even has
changed. She is still doing well after 6 months.

I wish I could afford to go to India to learn more. I shall be
attending more workshops on it in the UK when they come around.

I tend to think if only I could attend a seminar I would understand more deeply, but do you have further reasons why you think learning in India from Dr. Sankaran would be more effective?

Clinically, the patient came to get help to come off heroin and was
an alcohol abuser too.
The gesture she used was a spinning movement sketched in the air with
her finger. It was how she was describing her life.
I casually asked her what she liked in the natural world and she
replied "everything, I love all of nature"
I then asked specifically about spiders and she was terrified even at
the thought of them. She didn't want to discuss them AT ALL!

Later I found out that her big sister had made her kiss pictures of
tarantulas when she was little, under threat of worse if she refused.

She asked what the remedy was and then quickly said "no, I don't
think I want to know!

A few weeks ago, I was sent notification of an intensive workshop
that was happening in India over several days, with several teachers
including Rajan, which would have given me a better understanding, I
think, in the "sensations" technique.
