Dear Members,

I'm a newbie to this wonderful list, and have been lurking and learning
for a while.

Now, I have the following problem with a dog, I have in boarding at my
kennel, for which I would like to ask advice.

It's a medium sized male dog, who has an liver and kidney problem. His
symptoms are: loss of appetite (eats about every other day a little bit),
vomits approx twice a day, retching several times a day. Pain in belly.
Labored abdominal breathing and sqeeuzing with his belly. Lethargic,
prefers to ly down, mainly on his left side. Little fever, approx. 103.5 F.
Eyes has some whitish discharge.

His rbc is in normal range, the platelets are 90.000 only (have to be
above 140.000) and his WBC are 3.400 (normal range 4.000 - 10.000).
Negative for tick disease. Received his annual booster about a month
ago. About two years ago he had seizures after recieving his annual
booster, that disappeared after a short while. (I told the owner about
the dangers of vaccines, but obviously it was on deaf man's ears). I'm
afraid he suffers from vaccinosis.

I really would like to avoid the regular treatment of anitbiotics as the vet
already told me he might need to have them and IV. Plus that I lost one
dog with similar but more acute symptoms last February, a week after
his annual booster. This dog was treated with antibiotics and
prednisone.

I have been looking at remedies as Carduus, Chelidoniem, Lycopodium,
Flor de Piedra, Nux vomica and Solidago vigra aurea. But as a layman
(although I did a course in homeopathic medicine for pet animals, I
realize it was not classical homeopathy) I'm confused and I'm afraid for
aggrevation after giving the wrong remedy, as that can very well be
fatal to him.

Has anyone any idea on how to help this dog and could you, please,
advice me? I would really appreciate that.

You said about vaccinosis. OK .. Ever thought of Varioliunum and/ or Thuja. I just was thinking about it.

you are thinking in a good way. but it sounds like you
could use a professional homeopath to help reporatize the
case. it is very hard to do online since there may be
many little things that don't get communicated in an e-mail.
and this was a booster for what? rabies?

Thank you both for your reactions.

The booster vaccine was a combined vaccine with Canine Distemper,
Parvovirus, Infectious hepatitis, Pneumonia and Rabies. I'm living in
Thailand and it is common practice here to give annual combined
booster vaccines.

As I wrote before, this dog already had an reaction to the combined
vaccine about two years ago. It's that many pet owners still believe that
annual vaccines are a must for the protection of their pets against the
most serious infectious diseases, which are still quite common here.

I've been going through the different remedies again, including Thuja
and Varioliunum. And the symptoms are closest to Carduus.
It's that I'm just starting to recognize all those symptoms that can be so
much important and to learn about classical homeopathy, so it is very
possible I'm overlooking several symptoms which can be of importance
to this case.

So, oh yes, I (and not only me here) do need a professional homeopath
that has good knowledge of pets (and is affordable, as we live here on
Thai Baht). But it has to go over the internet because in Thailand there
is not such a person. Any recommendations are very welcome!

I have proved this many time by having a lab do antibody titers on a
client's dog or cat.
This is one way to convince the client NOT to repeat a vaccine.

After such severe reaction as was the case here - NO vaccine should have
been allowed even by the vet. It is contraindicated. So it is not only
clients but vets who need education.

You may want to start collecting scientific articles to give to clients
as well, to show well researched vaccine damage - by allopathic research!
