dietary changes? Maybe OT?

I agree with Pauline, and also with you, Shannon. Whatever aberrations kids go through as adolescents, if what they're used to as "food," from early childhood, includes a wide variety of good fruits and vegetables, they'll ultimately retur to a healhful diet. The more food they've seen growing as children the better, too. There's a primal pleasure for kids in harvesting fresh goodies straight from the vine to the mouth, and it's a fun activity to share with them. Also, various fruits and veggies are excellent as first "finger foods" for young toddlers -- again, it imprints "real food" in their brains for life. They'll grow up preferring fresh fruit and veggies to all kinds of manufactured carbs as "comfort food."

Thanks Rosemary, that's what I've been banking on! And, that someday,
when the time comes, the little "seeds" I've dropped over the years
into their little brains will come popping up to lead them onward:
"Sugar puts your white blood cells to sleep." (My son went thru a
phase, age 4 or so I think, when he would literally stop strangers in
the street to share that one with them! :-D ) And, "Okay, read the
ingredients. ... Okay, 'high fructose corn syrup'. Now what don't
I like about that one?" Heehee, the Voice of the Mama--you know you
never get rid of it! :-))
