Dear Rochelle,
WARD J. W., Unabridged Dictionary of the Sensations "AS IF" (wd2)

Faintness brain

- Faint feeling as if all the blood had left the brain. Oxalicum Acidum (CPTH)
Homoeopathic Recorder, The (_Hom_Rec) 1953

Homoeopathic therapy of neurasthenia (A. Zweig)

Transl. form "Nervenkrankheiten" by S.W. W.
Acidum oxalicum 10X--Aside from cerebral tiredness and backache radiating into lower extremities, brooding about complaints is characteristic.
Ferrum phosphoricum 6X to 12X--More important than poor quality of the blood are disturbed circulation, congestions alternating with pale face, oppression of chest, palpitation; coldness of hands and feet, etc.

Thanks but do you think that is a good enough reference for using in a case of unresolved anaemia where iron tablets are not being absorbed?

Not at all. For iron that is not being absorbed:
Ferrum metallicum 6C water potency. If that fails try -
Pulsatilla, Arsenicum, Sulphur and Zincum.
