Why you should do this:

We are already working on letters to the editor plus the journalist re chances of writing a full response.

However, very few people buy papers now and we can be far more effective on line - so the more people who write in the better. It would be great to get the pro homeopathy view in before the detractors register theirs.

Well - this is easier said than done!
My initial response was one I was a lot happier with but the allowed number of characters
was less than 25% of it.
So
I ended up with this abbreviation:

I also responded earlier today but the restriction of space really cramped my style! They haven't printed it yet and of course may not. I know Prof Baum and his constant outcries - it's all part of the remove homeopathy from the NHS movement....if you haven't signed the petition to save the RLHH, please do and pass it on - we need A LOT more signatures to have an effect.

and for what it's worth here's my comment - a bit harsh I know but I've been dealing with him for a while and I'm a bit jaded now....there was a lot more but I had to prune it

The annual budget for ALL homeopathic hospitals is around $10 million - total NHS budget $145 BILLION. Most of their patients have been failed by conventional medicine. good response. i dont think it harsh.
i dont see why people on the left or liberals
always feel they have to approach with hat in hand
posture when lobbying their causes. the opposition
never does and thinks it just fine. i find your
response to be pointed and clear--not bad.
i am reminded of nasty things said about women when they
are finding their voice--the same voice that is
commended in men!

I wasn't meaning harsh to Prof Baum but rather wanting to stay away from the personal which distracts and detracts from the argument. Yes always fine for them to disparage every homeopath on the planet but something which can be perceived as personally attacking to them becomes the focus of the rest of the argument and the points are lost. Not that I'm making points to Prof Baum himself - he needs urgent homeopathic care! But rather a statement made in public for other people's benefit. He as much as stated he wants the RLHH as a state of the art complementary cancer center - no doubt with plenty of private patients. It's a crime it really is, but without focused grass root support I think he may well get his way. As a community we need to be better organized. I set off the Save the RLHH campaign, got the petition going etc but unless the professional bodies take it up and push it, it's limited in its effectiveness. The US should be taking note and getting organized here because Codex etc is coming this way. We owe it to Hahnemann and every patient and potential patient on the planet !

As for the women's issue - yes for sure - I was an activist back in the early 70's when I was a Planning Engineer arguing for equal pay for equal work for women - I was paid 10% less for the exact same job than the rest of the engineers who were all men.

same job? hmm, you were doing good! the recent
figures i just heard last week were still almost
20% less than men, if i heard correctly. i think we
still have some work to do out there.
