Repertorium virosum helps you to find the related Genus epidemicus in cases with paucity of valuable symptoms and in cases suffering from chronic diseases where the valuable symptoms are changed or masked by secondary defense mechanisms. The term 'virus' should not lead to a misunderstanding that I am talking about viral 'agents' in a reductionistic way. The viral states are used here to show the related posture of the patient in its primary altered state. It is actually a phenomenological approach in the same sense that Hahnemann talks about Psora, Syphilis and Sycosis; 'infectious diseases' in its dynamic meaning and not as is used in conventional medicine. By finding the related Genus Epidemicus, you have a category with helps you to find the simillimum much more accurately.
I am going to clarify the importance of this approach in Minutus group ( http://www.yahoogroups.com/group/minutus ). You can also read my articles in my website, Minutus, http://www.minutus.org in the library section. They are actually introductory articles for this approach which I firmly believe to be pure Hahnemannian but with updated epidemiological data. This may sound strange for you but I am sure that after clarification you will enjoy the approach and you will see why I say that this is a pure Hahnemannian system. Those who have used this system of miasmatic analysis have seen its amazing results. The related data will be updated frequently to have better results with increasing success rate.
Miasm, as a term, has been used differrently by different homeopaths; Hahnemann, Kent, Ortega, Vithoulkas, Sankaran, Verspoor,..... Here, I am using the Hahenamnn's definition as clearly stated in his Organon and Chronic Diseases.

Repertorium Virosum helps you to find the related miasm in analysis of chronic patients. After choosing the high rank remedies in your normal individualization, you will do a parallel repertorization with Repertorium Virosum to find the related Genus Epidemicus. There is a list of remedies as main antimiasmatics for this GE. Then you choose a remedy that both covers the individualization result and this set of antimiasmatic remedies. If you read this article you will see that this approach has nothing to do with viral 'particles'. Those who know my thoughts clearly know that I am not a reductionist. At the time of Hahnemann's, the infectious diseases known capable to cause chronic derangement were only Syphilis and Sycosis. Psora was 'theoretically' considered as a major ancient pandemic epidemics. If you understand how Hahnemann introduced Sycosis to chronic miasms, you will get the point that if he was alive today, he would continue his effort in identification of new chronic patterns. This new work is just an extension of Hahnemannian concept of refering to Genus Epidemicus. Years ago when I began considering the Hahnemannian miasmatic categorization based on his CD, I experienced a remarkable increase in success rate in treatment of Chronic patients. Now with this new tool my close colleagues and I are again experiencing another great step toward cure of chronic patients.
