Speaking of "a permanent trained staff to represent us"--what a good
idea!!
Here in the US, that role is being approached--as funding permits--by
the NCH (National Center for Homeopathy). It has been basically an
educational organization (puts out Homeopathy Today and sponsors
conferences and on-line activities), but over the past... er, maybe
year or few? has sent out occasional "special funding" requests, asking
people to make special, extra, "earmarked" donations for special
purposes, including establishing a "media response"... er person or
team--sorry, I am suddenly wishing I had read the mails more closely!
I think this is a good approach, tho having a few large organizations
opening their "deep pockets" would be even better I'm sure.
(Well, maybe not, because there are usually "strings attached"...) Has
UK had anything similar going on, and/or are there other organizations
and activities we should become more familiar with?
And I guess I should put a pitch in to US folks--if you're not familiar
with the NCH and Homeopathy Today, do check out their website:
www.nationalcenterforhomeopathy.org
Your membership--besides bringing you a very attractive and readable
magazine, suitable for perusing, lending, leaving, donating--also helps
support Homeopathy! I do think that each country (etc.) *needs* to
have an organized voice speaking up for us. For such a bunch of rugged
individualists
"organizing" seems hard--but it seems that we'd
better learn to do it anyway. "This has been an unpaid commercial
announcement. No animals were harmed in the broadcast from this
soapbox."
)
Cheers,
Shannon
