Dear Julian Winston,
You wrote:
The following was reported to me by someone on another list.

I would be curious to know the exact SOURCE of these comments and of
Kent's quote.

Tyler, in an obituary she wrote of Kent for the Homeopathic World said:

" In Dr. James Tyler Kent, one feels that one has lost a personal
friend. It is a great regret never to have seen him. Never to have
listened to one of the lectures of which one hears so much. But one
has letters, and they are eloquent of the man...."

From Tyler's own mouth-- she NEVER met Kent in person.
I have utmost regard for your knowledge on Homoeopathy. Though I couldn’t purchase your two books, due to the price, when expressed in Indian currency. I have read comments, some quotes from your book through mailing list. You are having the history of homoeopathy.
My quotation is from Dr. R.P. PATEL’S book. As he states he also learnt Kent’s repertory from Sir. Dr. john Weir as a student in 1951-52 at london. Dr. Tyler learnt to use kent’s repertory from Sir. Dr. john Weir who was direct student of Dr. Kent.
He also says, “She gave lecture on Kent’s Repertory to American Homoeopaths in the very presence of Dr. kent.”
“Never to have listened to one of the lectures of which one hears so much. But one
has letters, and they are eloquent of the man...."
It may imply she regrets for not attending his lectures, as she learned repertory from Kent’s student. Further his letters fascinated her. There is no fact to think that she didn’t meet.
I also found the quote: . Dr. Kent commented; ’"I am really surprised that Dr. Tyler has gone over the work so completely and that it appears she knows so much of what there is in it. I was surprised that anyone aside from the author had attempted to put together all there is in the book." In the small booklet from Jain Publishers.
