RLHH Update 2 - it's working!
Posted: Tue Mar 06, 2007 3:44 pm
Hi Everyone,
Wanted to send you the latest updates - apologies if you have already
received this information from other sources - and apologies about
the delay in updating you - it's been a hectic few days! The
response to my initial email has been phenomenal - it has
circumnavigated the globe and messages continue to arrive from
Australia, NZ, the USA, Sweden, India and Canada to name but a few.
However, because of the furor my initial email caused in certain
quarters I am limiting this to the essential facts.
I am forwarding the email Dr Peter Fisher (the Queen's Homeopath) has
sent out into the public arena separately - it lays the issues out
clearly and gives some options for people to help. I also attach to
it an amended Join our Campaign document in which I have added some
additional options to the one previously only used for patients at
the hospital. Please encourage supporters to send back the Join the
Campaign document - by email or snail mail.
btw I received a personal email from Dr Fisher in which he kindly
pointed out a couple of errors in my own email which I'd like to draw
to your attention - my email had been quickly written and not
intended for 'public consumption' at that stage - I would have
written a slightly different one had I known it would be transmitted
all over the globe! But no matter it served a purpose and there are
no coincidences.
I made some typos and the most important of them was when referring
to Prof Ernst's Lancet article - he of course didn't write it he just
fanned the media flames - I had meant to say Prof Ernst AND the
Lancet article. (Most unfortunate.) Also the revamp cost 20 million
and not 43 and was from an NHS charity, so I apologise for that
misinformation. But all that aside the essential points of my email
were correct as you will see from Dr. Fisher's email. The
possibility of bridge building as a result of this campaign should
not imho be underestimated.
I will send details of the e-petition I applied for more than a week
ago as soon as I have it - the Government site has apparently been
deluged with applications for petitions! It is restricted to British
citizens but they can be living anywhere in the world.
In the meantime, take comfort in the knowledge that we now know we
have a passionate, devoted and active global community ready at a
moments notice to take action - and continue to hold the vision of a
healthy, happy, thriving homeopathic community - it is only a matter
of time.
Best regards and thanks for all you do.
