agaricus/manic depression

Dear Nader, in response to your request for repertorisation of one of the
Agaricus cases - although I cannot apologise for experience I have to
apologise for not really being able to give this information because I
didn't really repertorise it - I knew the Rx and understood the case to be
this Rx.

I was a little bit concerned about the quality of some of the Sx because of
the heavy medication however I did briefly check the following before
prescribing:-
Head, numbness, occiput
Head, pain, nervous
head, pain <<< a.m.
Agaricus head pains are many and varied (because of the cerebral excitation)
but are nearly always accompanied by cold, numbness and tingling.
Head, shocks, electric like ( this sensation is strong to Agaricus)

Mind, ailments from fright
Mind, anxiety from noise
Injure herself - frenzy
Indifference to everything

Fear of snow - although I didn't rep. this it almost sealed the case for me.
Agaricus = s.a.i. pierced by needles of ice (ice cold is a theme running
through - think of frostbite and chilblains - she arrived in flimsy clothing
on a really cold day - skin red. ice can burn just like heat can so that
theme also runs through).

All our repertories are wonderful and valuable but for me we really need to
"know" as many remedies as possible.

Boericke is very good on Agaricus:- The provings bring out 4 phases of
cerebral excitament. (1) Slight stimulation - shown by increased
cheerfulness, courage, loquacity, exalted fancy. (2) More decided
intoxication - great mental excitement and incoherent talking, immoderate
gaiety alternates with melancholy. Perception of relative size of objects is
lost, takes long steps and jumps over small objects as if they were trunks
of trees - a small hole appears as a frightful chasm, a spoonful of water
an immense lake. Physical strength is increased, can lift heavy loads. With
it much twitching. (3) Third stage produces a condition of furious or raging
delirium, screaming, raving, wants to injure themselves etc. (4) Fourth
stage - mental depression, languor, indifference, confusion, disinclination
to work etc. We do not get the active cerebral congestion of Belladonna, but
a general nervous excitement such as is found in delirium tremens, delerium
of fevers, etc.
