the "placebo effect" taunt from the sceptics - just gazillions of failed
"cases" treated by candystripers seen as "doctors" - proving that
(candystripe) homeopathy "does not work".

A "pet" peeve of mine.

You might want to look at the BIH (British Institute of Homeopathy). So
far I have seen all except chronic but I am new to their course. I took a
basic course for my ND and this did not include the following, which is why
I am furthering my education. Thanks Kathy

The Veterinary Homeopathy course with the BIH is a 220 hour course that
takes 9-12 months. I think that you would be hard pressed to find a
Classical Homeopath that felt that Classical Homeopathy could be learnt
in that time. For people to be practising as Classical Vet Homs after
such a short period of training is IMO misleading to the clients and not
that much better than those that attended 4 or 5 weekend courses. I
don't see why veterinary homeopaths should have less than the four year
training that is expected of a human homeopath and I don't feel that
they should be able to call themselves a homeopath until they have had
that training.

We have a similar problem with other "licensed health care providers"
too! Some are aware that their homeopathic work is limited in
scope--e.g. a few dentists who incorporate homeopathy, and ??--and in
other cases they are not. E.g. I know a naturapath who lists
"homeopathy" on her business card, but her training in it is, well,
pretty primitive. Which she seems unaware of, sad to say! It would be
great to get homeopathy *degrees* better established and better
recognized!

What do you mean by "methodically"? We did it from start to end,
talked about it, and applied it to cases. Was it *thorough*? I think
that *no* part of homeopathic training can be "thorough" in school,
simply because there is so much to cover--we have to do lifelong
learning, and that includes Organon.

That is the problem isn't it?

as we see just from this one list discussion and thorough
investigation of the Organorganorganon is never ending!

No college could do a thorough, and I man thorough, job of that AND
teach anything else within the normal time constraints

Certainly we were taught water pots and raising pots wit each dose,
CDx, obvious differences twixt previous and 6th edition.

What we didn't do was go through it Aphorismus by aphorismus, "no
time, no time" (said the Rabbit, OWTTE)

The reading list was long though I certainly spent over £600 in books
at the outset, after that I lost count!

So at least when I was at college it was being taught but whether
that is still the case I really couldn't vouch
