Remedy Maps

Dear Group
I am interested in finding a source for the remedy maps that are
available; does anyone know where these maps can be obtained? Are they
available online or in a book?
Many thanks
Kerry

Hi Ellen

It is basically the remedy in diagram format: a flowchart of the remedy.
I tend to learn better with visuals and I am prone to falling asleep if
I just pick up the text of a proving and read through it. I find the
image of a flowchart sticks in my head.

I remember coming across something like the flowcharting by Satya Paul
published by Jain Publishers...

Minimum Books sells a Homeopathic Remedy Coloring Book. Maybe that'll
help.

Ooh, that sounds wonderful! Let me know if you find a source, and if
you (or anyone) could post just one for me / us to see, I would be
grateful! I've been trying to work out a way of my own to do a similar
thing, but heck, I can't even get the dishes washed right now, LOL!

Hi Kerry,
I'd recommend making your own flowcharts as you work through the information on the remedy. You can develop "strings" of information - even if the links between symptoms are funny or fantastic (sometimes the wierder the connection, the better you remember it!) . You can use head to toe flowcharts, map connections between physical and mind symptoms, and it can be much more effective than working with a map that someone else worked out since you're then making the connections using your own logic, tapping into your own way of thinking.
Another thing that can help greatly in study of materia medica is to look for things in the text. For example, look for colours, count how many times a specific colour appears in the text. The results are interesting when comparing between remedies - helps you to remember certain aspects of the remedies, and turns a tedious read-through into a treasure hunt. You can choose some key words and see how often they appear in the text - helps whether you characterise a remedy as haemorrhagic, spasmodic etc.
I work this way when I study and when I teach - I find that when MM study is less "heavy", more fun and playing with ideas, it's easier to absorb and remember the material.
Some thoughts - I hope they are helpful to you.
Regards,
Vera

Thanks Ann for the info on this book. Have you seen a copy or has
anyone else? I would be interested to see what people thought of it as
it seems quite expensive at £12 for 98 pages.
