Well, I attended a 'well known' school to remain nameless
We barely read the organon - had a few assignments related to a few aphorisms.
But we got a lot on core delusion (which I think is good once you have the
basics and very helpful - Luc de schepper also teaches this as helpful)
We got lots of other methods to find the remedy
But we did NOT get 5th & 6th edidtion of ORGANON and only were taught 4th
edition prescribing.
We read a little of Kent's Philosophy.

Otherwise...................sadly lacking.

the Distance Learning out of Devon, England as well, that would dream of
letting their students get away with not having an extremely thorough
grounding in Hahnemann, the Organon, Kent, very, very in-depth study of
individual remedies, etc. - in other words a very deep foundation in
Hahnemannian Homeopathy.

And I disagree
very little basis or teachings in Organon......................at one of
the above schools.

Sheri,
Not what I have found this year or last, your statement "very little basis or teachings in Organon". Of course I'm the kind that over-reads anyway.

When I went thru PAHM we were taken quite carefully through Dudgeon's
combined 5th and 6th edition, making some comparisons between the two.
Yet oddly (as I now realize) the posology and case management
techniques we learned were more fourth edition, and I don't even recall
more than a nod toward the idea of giving Cs in water. Funny... We
spent some class time reviewing LM methodology, but were told we should
gain our experience first with Cs, as they (and 4th ed method) are
easier to learn with, and the same understanding is needed for each
(understanding cases and materia medica; direction of cure; evaluating
the response; what to do if ...). Our teacher for that said that she
only used LMs with patients who actually needed it (due to sensitivity
or severity?), and she did find the LM patients needed more
"managing"--and it now occurs to me that was probably because of their
sensitivity / severity, more than because they were using LMs.

We did go thru the book completely (at least that's my recollection),
but I have to say there was a LOT of other material to cover too, and
it's a book that bears coming back to, over and over! (I've heard Will
Taylor, and also another luminary but can't recall who--say that they
read the Organon completely thru every year, and still find new
insights each time. (What a good idea, hm? :-) )

And yes we read Chronic Diseases too.

The CHC guidelines (at least as of some years back) do call for
familiarity with the Organon, but I don't remember specifics, and that
would be very interesting to know.
