Miasmatic Approach to LUPUS and UVEITIS
Posted: Thu Dec 20, 2001 7:20 pm
I am treating my first case of LUPUS (a recent medical
diagnosis of a constitutional patient who originally
came to me for depression; I don't consider the
remedies I have given so far to be that successful).
Her immediate and serious manifestation of the lupus
is uveitis (inflammation of the uvea, the part of the
eye that contains the iris, ciliary body and choroid).
My feeling is that lupus, as an inflammatory disease,
should be approached miasmatically -- with the sycotic
as primary and, in this case, syphilitic as well.
1) Does this thinking make sense to someone who has
treated lupus before?
2) Does anyone have a favorite list of remedies
arranged by miasm? I found one in Choudhury and one
in a book by S.K. Banerjea -- but am wondering if some
classical authors have also done this. (It has always
seemed such a strange gap in materia medicas not to
give miams as part of the remedy picture.)
3) Has anyone had any experience with uveitis?
Many thanks!
