I have just watched an interesting programme on Channel 5 (UK) showing the first surviving victim of rabies who was not given the vaccination.
The 15 yr old from USA was bitten by a bat and a month later started with the symptoms of rabies. A doctor who had never come across rabies before decided to put her into a very deep coma so her brain would become inactive and hope that the body's immune system would have time to start to work as it should. Normally she would have died within a day or two. From tests it could be seen that her body did in fact start making antibodies and fought the rabies. When she was taken out of the extremely deep coma they didn't know if she would just be left in a vegetable like state. She was at first but came to and had to relearn to crawl and speak again. This girl has just passed her driving test although does not speak absolutely clearly.

Conferences were held and the protocol discussed and to the most part rejected. It was tried in Thailand and the patient did not begin to make immune cells and his organs failed and he died anyway. It hasn't been tried again.

I just wonder if anyone had survived rabies by taking Lyssin?

Dear All,

Lurking my way through all the interesting posts by you, for which I would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank you, I have now a question.

As many of you may have heard/seen in the main stream media, large parts of Bangkok (Thailand) and surroundings are greatly suffering from floods. There are many groups that help the people, and there are several groups helping out the stranded strays and owned pets, and wild life. (I follow this primarily on facebook, and they are doing such an absolute fabulous job!)

Recently an unvaccinated puppy was rescued and sent up to Chiang Mai's dog shelter. The pup turned out to have Rabies, and has bitten several people. Although, I have not been bitten it has made me think.
What would you do, how would you treat yourself, when you are bitten by a Rabic dog or other Rabic animal for that matter (besides from freaking out )

Would you treat yourself completely homeopathically, and if yes, how? Or would you still choose for the dreaded shots against Rabies?
