Can any one explain to me why for an enlarged benign prostate gland the surgeons only recommend lasering some of it away rather than a complete removal?

Also has anyone had any success in reducing the size of a benign prostrate gland and was it with a constitutional or specific Rx.

Most probably this is the easiest and most profitable approach for
them. No need to individualise treatment - everyone gets the same -
and it pays well.

Thanks for that. I shouldn't think cauterising the urethra does it much good. Why don't they just remove the prostrate as in an elderly man it is has outgrown its use of providing a liquid for the sperm to swim in?

You have touched on an interesting area.

The prostate is mostly only removed if it is thought that it is enlarged die
to a malignant tumour.

Firstly we do not know how old this patient is and IMPORTANTLY a man remains
'sexual' despite his age!

The removal of the prostate gland is quite an invasive procedure and results
in damage to erectile nerves and almost invariably results in incontinence
too due to damage to the sphincter controlling the bladder emptying which is
attached almost to the prostate.

The loss of erectile function destroys the concept of a man. This leads into
all sorts of mental and emotional problems even suicidal thoughts.

The lost of bladder control is socially embarrassing and uncomfortable.

Thanks for that information about the expected results of a prostate removal. I believe erection is not an issue but incontinence certainly would be!!

Because surgery THROUGH the urethra is less traumatic than opening the
abdomen and removing the whole gland, few complications, mainly not removing
enough, whereas through laparotomy you might end up with doing lots of
damage...........been there, done that, if my turn comes, endoscopy any time

..........and to add to the concerns of impotence, it happens extremely
rarely through endoscopic surgery, but a lo more frequently through open
surgery as the nerves are easily injured by this approach.

Just a suggestion that I worked on few patients with Prostate problems , I
found Homeopathic remedy was able to help few of my patients,
On the Homeopathy you need to have proper case taken , and very closely I
work, if it is beginning only this will work,
If you send full detail then I could help a bit, but we have to see if this
runs in the family, age , 1st should be checked by the Medical test to see
how far gone etc.
