Ideas re sugar craving

Working with lady in mid 50s. Currently she is doing very well. I have only used homeopathic remedies with her to get acute allergy symptoms under control (worked well - she is now off all meds) and have begun dietary changes. She is fine with the idea of making better food choices, excercise, yoga etc. and making good progress. All is going very well with one exception. She reports extreme cravings for sugar. They are not constant, but she reports they are overwhelming, and she does not remember ever having cravings like this before. Original plan was to wait until she was off all meds for a while before properly 'taking the case'. No idea yet if this is a new symptom or simply a transitional phase for her. I've never considered a food craving as an acute before - and was curious if anyone had perspective on this problem.
Thank you in advance.
