I agree, Didi--I think that all of these experiences, even when they
are not "strictly classical", add to our understanding of "what works"
in various situations. I do think it's good to know that we can
"stretch the boundaries" when necessary, so thanks for all of your
stories!!!! And the work you are doing, "at the front lines", is I
think particularly valuable for us to hear about. Keep 'em coming!

We've gone thru this "what topics are permissible here" discussion so
many times before...
It's been made clear that (a) in-depth discussion of non-classical
methods are outside the purpose of the list; and/but (b) brief or
topical discussion of same is okay.

I do not want--and do not have time--to beat this poor horse any
further at the moment.
I value ALL of Didi's posts, and keeping in touch with what is
happening, what is working / not working in that very challenging
situation. If you feel upset at what she posted about it, why not make
a counter-offering of your own? Something about how *you* would have
handled that situation, and why?

Your suggestion out of your actual experience is useful and welcome.
Of course not all members use combinations (not that all members
use just pure homeopathy - there is a wide spectrum of homeopathy
represented as "Classical" here - people targeting butterflies at
chakras, meditation and dream provers, pendulum swingers, spectral
machine pounders, reflexologists, kinesiologists, Karmic theorists,
Original Sin psorists, Jungian homeopaths, Free Association
Homeopaths, Vacuum provers,people who believe in miasms but that
Hahnemann was wrong about sycosis ( and other miasms) - funny all
say that they are Classical Homeopaths - the only probable common
thread being they CLAIM they give a single medicine at one time (
but can give an intercurrent the next day after brushing the teeth )
and as is usual in any group there may be extreme opinions of all
sorts...

Keep up the good work - but do not post it here if you do not want
more bites...- for which you might need Ledum + Echinacea + Caladium
( or even Lachesis ( for human bites)....

or take potentized Organon 6th edition LM in water doses...( If you
use dry dose there are other people who might target you for using
the 4th edition ) for what a regressive throw-back practice you are
doing....

I think Didi has enough experience and confidence in what she is
doing to withstand a few bites. I find her mails very refreshing as
I do those from the purists. I would think that for a state of
mind there is a one best remedy but in incidental afflictions which
can go through different stages combination of a few remedies that
are known to be complementary justified. That is different from
using a complex of 20 or so remedies. FWIW Jean

been 'proved' the proper way.

How do you explain to yourself and your patients the homoeopathic mechanism
at work in a combination remedy? Do you ever wonder why it is that combo
remedies are usually marketed as having beneficial effects in non-life
threatoning acutes - the effects of which would have most likely resolved by
themselves in a short time anyway? Yet this doesn't seem to be the case when
used in chronic disease. How can the theoretical basis that applies to
combos in acutes, not apply in chronic cases? I'm intrigued as to how a
non-specific "incidental affliction that might go through several stages" is
cured by a non-characteristically specific combination remedy, and that
practice is called 'homoeopathy'?? Can you help me understand?

Sometimes when I get a sore throat and tickle in nose , sneezes
and some rhinitis I find that Ferrum Phos 30c and Ars Iod 6c a few
doses 15 mins apart avoids any illness. It seems reasonable to me
to use Arnica for bruising in dental extraction and Hypericum for
nerve pain. I do not like to see people attacked when they are
doing such valuable work , I really do not wish to involve
myself further,Jean
