Hi All,

I received the following mail today and have no idea where it is from. How would you think I should answer it?

Regards
Rochelle

Hi Rochelle,
Just wondering if you could answer us a quick question. We keep hearing the word "Energy" used in homeopathy and we're wondering exactly what this energy is. For example "Improves energy flow to various areas of the body" as taken from one website. We would appreciate it if you could clear up exactly What energy is being referred to.
Regards,

Rochelle, I'll put in my 2cents worth for what it's worth but homeopathy
itself is a form of 'energy' healing in that it works on our energy body,
not the physical.

If you look at the way remedies treat chronic disease and the 'peeling of
the onion' if you like and include 'dynamism' with it: these walls are not
solid or static, but are forcefields forever vibrating (energy). All of the
layers are separate but are also connected with the whole structure, so it
can affect the whole, just as the whole can affect it.

Reading the email below it sounds to me that the "Energy" means the energy
contained in each remedy and its interaction with the various force fields
within us.

Here are a thought or two on the subject.

First, it is important (i.e. not just pseudo-erudite nitpicking) to
remember the original meaning of the word itself. Energy (Gr.
energeia) means ACTION. That in itself should do away with some of the
confusion (created - albeit more or less unwittingly - by the various
New Age philosophies).

In my opinion - which is by no means fixed, and it's more of an
intuition anyway - homeopathy works as it does because of water's
ability to conduct "memory", among other agents (i.e. conductors of
action, i.e. "energy" - of which electricity is only a more visible and
painfully palpable example).

Regardless of the various "scientific" names that one could give to
the "eros" (for that's what it is) that keeps together the protons,
electrons, neurinos and what-not of palpable matter, of our visible
world (and I am not sure that there IS a consensus about any such
scientific name), that "erotic" energy - i.e. the action of keeping
matter "together" - seems to have a specific signature in every living
form. (Or genetics wouldn't even exist!) And water, the supreme
conductor, not only is susceptible to that specific "energetic"
imprint - it has (or so it seems) the ability to keep it and carry it
on to other living organisms.

Regardless of the shameless (and typically "scientific", I might add)
smear-and-slander campaign against the late dr. Benveniste, I'd still
recommend his seminal article in "Nature" (1988) any time.

All the best,

A.

I am only sorry that he didn't live to see his ideas being vindicated
(as I am sure they will be).

On the other hand... What do we really know about the survival of
"energy" that we call Life...? :-)
All the best,

Thanks Shannon,Christine and A . I have actually wrote back to the person and asked who are "us" and "we" as that will help me formulate my answer.

To me when you talk about "energy " in homeopathy I feel it needs a discussion of the Vital Force and the energy if the remedy as in the Organon.

I expect this is another of those ones gathering info to ridicule
homeopathy off in the media

I suggest answering " if you don't know what energy is ask a dead
person'

That's what I wondered so I asked !!! See below.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Us and We would be the people in my office at work. We were discussing alternative cures etc and one of the guys here was designing a website for a homeopathy place and that's why the question came up.

Who are "us" and "we". This will help me produce the type of answer you require. Your example to me just means "energy" in the normal sense of the word but the word energy when used in a homeopathic way means discussing the Vital Force!!
