greetings to all,
Nasal polypus.
i have a patient of troublesome nasal polypus. 52yrs man of dark
complexion, married 15 years but no children. from the last 5 years
has been suffering from this trouble.firt he tried allopathic
treatment and surgery. has been operated on 4 times. each time the
polypus grew again and became larger and larger.from the last 1year
he has been trying Homeopathy. his Homeopath has applied TEUCRIUM.
SANGUINARIA. KALI-N. in different potencies. several other
medicines and things but all in vain.
Now his nose(right side) is bulged out as
the size of a large walnut due to the pressure of growth from
within. he always has to fill his nostril with cotton preventing
from the watery discharge running continuously from right nostril.
These are the symptoms which i could have find out.
=Extreme Anger.
=Wants to do voilence when angry.
=Extremely sensitive to both Heat and Cold.
=Thirst excessive
=Perspires profusely.and
=Feels uneasy while and after perspiration.
no
more symptoms.
On the basis of these symptoms i have given him MERC-SOL 1M and
placebo. shall it clear the case or do something for him. and if it
fails what should i do.
any suggestions, comments pleas.

hi
i think we should not name some symptoms as a disease. We treat the man suffering from disease not disease in man so first of all you should forget that this case is of nasal polypus or AIDS. collect all symptoms and then hit. it will cure the patient even he have so called AIDS or other disease which still need some name.
so take your case and prescribe confidencely.

In your place, if Merc fails, I'd be inclined to find out a little more about the violent anger (e.g., when, why, with whom, what he actually does when this happens...). Also are there any modalities with the perspiration? And what happens when he gets hot or cold? Any answers to these expanded symptoms might provide an important clue or two.

I was surprised and intrigued to find this rubric in van Zandwoort's Repertorium Universale:

NOSE - PHENOMENA - POLYPUS - distention of nose, with

hecla, kali-n.

Hecla also has violent anger, although that's a huge rubric.

The presence of Hecla in the rubric makes me wonder if there is perhaps a bony tissue involvement when polypi produce nasal distension... They're usually soft growths. Does anyone know?

here are some details you want to query.
The patient gets angry when someone contradicts him.
He wants to fight to beat when angry,even there is impulse to kill
who contradics him.
(and i found the rubric in Kent Repertory "wants to kill the person
who contradicts him")
He perspires in summer in hot atmosphere, perspires too profusely
and feels uneasy even weakness while and after perspiration.
Extremely sensitive to cold of winter and heat of summer. always
wants moderate temperature.

don't help in chronic miasmatic cases. BRYONIA is hot remedy. and
ARSENIC and BARYTA cold remedies, while the patient in hand is both
heat and cold.the 5 remedies you mentioned don't concern the case

Nasal polypi is a sycotic disease. The patient is a barometric patient having problem with seasonal changes. You may try Teucrium MV and Lemna Minor which is nearly a specific for this problem. since the pt. nasal discharge is corrosive, you may think of Arsenic also. A dose of Thuja 200 will check the relapse.
