What do you think is the best Rubric for a high pitched voice that sounded like a child's? It was the first thing I noticed about this 40 yr old woman despite her have a very responsible job.

I found Shrill, Piping neither of which I think really suits.

as i opened this email i'm reading (alas! multi-tasking) about Lactinum from
Scholten...

If this woman was born with this 'high pitched voice' then I do not see why
one would want to repertorise it. However, if the voice changed to that from
another normal speaking voice, then i would think it would show that a
'state' is evident.

I guess what I am saying, if it ain't broke then don't fix it.

If you thnk it is an indication of a state to be treated then, you may be
better served to search for what circumstances the voice changes under, and
what emotions could be behind that.

I do know of someone who when talking to people outside of their immediate
comfort zone, put on a kind of childish voice sound --- but I am more
interested in the 'why' than the 'what' if I was to look at it as a symptom.
In this case, it is an attempt to appear in a 'nice' way to those that don't
know her. This is akin to a 'mask' she puts on for certain people. Her
normal speaking voice is less gentle, and melodic than the put on one.

recognize it as a mineral?

Is there actually a child-like quality in the speech, or a mature way of talking but at a high pitch? If there is a pronounced girlishness, check out any of the Lacticums. From Scholten "If we had to choose one word to describe the Lacticums we could take the word 'girlish'....Even later in life they keep this girlish quality..."

I would also check out whether there has been any mechanical change in her vocal cords
such as a history of polyps on the vocal cords or such like - she might not think this
relevant to tell you but you would want to know if it matters to the case. Best wishes, Joy

yes, that's why I asked lacticum acidum - it is the sour milk rx,
affinity with breast feeding problems, hence the 'girlish' theme ?? I
don't know Scholten that well but lactic acid has a lot of
constriction (physical and emotional hence the 'not growing up theme),
the physical sensation is especially felt in the throat that changes
the voice. But am sure someone else will confirm or otherwise. Best
