All conversation is about going forward in life. Wants to leave everythig behind. Has gone so far as to change his name to become another person with another life. Is secretive. Will not share information. Often I am told will not acknowledge he has been asked a question. Not open. If relatives ask more than basic question will be told to mind their own business. Loves to share intellectual exchange. Very observant of others. Looks around ll the time as walking to observe if danger.My feeling is that he puts himself in danger i.e. wlaking alone at night because of restlessness and says can think better when walking but also as he is so fearful inside needs to constantly confront fearful situations to prove he can survive
Very strong dislike and Confusion about religion. Talks of love being what is needed.

thank you Michele and Glenda and Beverly are you using his
reluctance to communicate as a sx?

I can only add (others may be able to offer more) that if you are not
able to penetrate the case further it will be difficult determining
the best rx because so many rx come up for this type of a persecuted
state and this is why I would want more physicals - they are so much
easier to deal with. But if you only have the history of ingrowing
toenails and he still has so much real or imagined pain with his toes
then you should concentrate on that because that pain is still
persecuting him like the more ethereal aspects of the case are. I
suppose this is why I like the idea of Nitric acid, which also has the
sx << thinking of complaints.Sometimes the seemingly lesser physical
sx are the real golden wonders of a case rather than the wow emotional
ones.

The other big rx for ingrowing toenails is Mag-Aust - a very unstable
rx and this might be worth looking at as well. Also there is much in
his confused, secretive, suspicious and extremely sensitive state to
suggest Thuja.

Hi Beverly,

I've not been able to join in on-list for awhile now so come to this case without
knowing what has already been said, but I wonder if you have considered Med., as it
is not well represented in the reps as you know and it maybe needs addressing before
repeating the Aurum perhaps ?

It struck me that Med might be a possibility when I was reading through it (along with
Aurum, Anac and Lyc if I'm honest). Med. is woefully under-represented in terms of
repertorisation, so I did a quick one and it was within 10 places of the top - (other
scorers Stram, Nit.ac, Verat, Lyss, Ars., Phos, Puls).

Here are some rubrics that do fit:

Egotism, self esteem - which is compensation for:
Confidence, lack of self

Fear, apprehension, dread alone, of being, night, behind him, someone is

Eyes, wild look - should have Med., as it makes sense if it is in the rubric "Wildness".
It is not in some of the more pertinent rubrics (especially Estranged, etc.), but there is
this 'unreal' approach to life - for instance, not being able to work at a "normal" job,
or being unable to put his foot firmly on the ground, nor want to be part of this
material world possibly ? :

E.g.

He seems to have an aversion to being 'touched' - in more ways than one. Could his
desire for exercise be related to a sense of 'hurry'? He certainly seems to swing from
one extreme to the other, which is v. Med., but I don't think it is the whole picture by
any means, and that's why I mentioned intercurrent, as you had some success with
the Aurum.

Some more generals might help, but appreciate they are hard to elicit;

Only you can suss the energy of the px in front of you and whether high doses are
appropriate; there are not enough physicals to go on, but generally in highly-
mentalised px it is suggested by Berkeley Digby to go as high as possible.

I'm also wondering (although I hate labels) looking at his age, whether he is going
into paranoid schizophrenia ? See below for internet description. [I have a px who
has a 'persecution mania', but to all intents and purposes workwise is fine - just
difficulty in social relationships.]

Mind; SCHIZOPHRENIA; Paranoid (p, 10) (10) : Bell., Hyos., med., methyl., Nux-v., op.,
psil-s., rauw., stram., verat.

Also, is this a possible rubric ?

Generalities; EMACIATION; General; pining boys (m, 7) (7) : AUR., Bac., LYC., med.,

It ticks a lot of boxes remedy-wise anyway - but what might he be pining ... the loss
of his father's love ? Just a thought anyway.

The first signs of paranoid schizophrenia usually surface between the ages of 15 and

Yes he has a lot to pine over. hence emaciation- Loss of father's love. being subjected to violence. missing out on any support systems.
Being lied to by persons he trusted [including a practitioner]

Hyos has been my next port of call if I couldn't come up with something else to give after the probable nat. mr. depending on progress.

Other remedies i.e. puls/lyc I might use a 1m but Med I'm not so sure of potency.

You can choose the potency for Med the same way as for any other
remedy--including the clarity of the prescribing picture / how certain
you are (are there any Med keynotes in the case?). I agree with
Barbara that the nature of the complaints seems to give preference to a
high potency, tho.

Is there anything re loves / hates of any foods?
What is his sleep pattern?

And on another note--Looking again at your original post I'm wondering
again about stram (or perhaps another remedy with something of stram's
specific emphasis on fear and violence).

Morrison's Desktop Prescriber, Stramonium:
The degree of violence in our culture has made Stramonium an ever
more common remedy, especially in children. We often expect to see very
advanced mental conditions or mania states in Stramonium cases but
there are a great number of patients who can benefit from this remedy
who are perfectly normal mentally. In these early stage cases we will
see only hints of the violence and fear which are common in the later
stages. However all through the pathology we will find tremendous
intensity and energy. Stramonium is also an important remedy in acute
illness with delirium and febrile convulsions.
Violence in action, in thought, in the physical symptoms is the
central fact of Stramonium: violence or the fear of violence.
Stramonium is mainly a remedy of the nervous system. The violence often
seems to be of a neurological type, coming almost as a convulsion.
Epilepsy, strabismus, sleep disturbance, attention deficit disorders,
and even schizophrenia are common manifestations of Stramonium,
pointing towards an underlying fragility and imbalance in the nervous
system and helping to explain the violence of the remedy. It is in this
type of excitement and upheaval of the nervous system that we find the
sphere of action of this remedy. Any neurological insult may provoke a
Stramonium state: fever, alcohol, injury.
In adults, Stramonium patients often present without any
aggressive behavior at all, but rather with intense fears. The fears
almost always have to do with violence or death or with things which
symbolize death (darkness, cemeteries) or violence (animals).
Often we will find true mania cases in Stramonium, these patients
