Further re CALENDULA EYE WASH

Some further questions to Nancy Tichenor's excellent
message re Calendula eye wash:
1) You say 1 to 25 parts Calendula tincture: One
WHAT in 25 WHATS? This is always the underlying
uncertainty for me in dealing with tinctures.
2) Do you drop it in the eye or how else do you
administer it?
3) I would also be really nervous putting any
ointment inside someone'e eyelid with a Q-tip unless
the ointment was particularly meant for the eye. Do
you mean any commercial Calendula ointment be safe?
Or is there a special kind you trust? Also -- I would
worry about cotton shreds from the Q-tip.
But maybe I am just a worry-wart: certainly I am
where the a) eye, b) heart and c) diabetes are
concerned.
Thanks and best wishes.
