Light sensitivity in my eye

At age three, I was struck in the left eye by three slivers of steel.
I lost the sight in that eye and the retina atrophied. Now I am fifty-
six and have begun experiencing sensitivity to light in the eye. To
avoid pain, I am having to wear an eyepatch to block out light. Any
suggestions, remedies, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

I think most here would suggest that you have your full case taken as
there could be a great number of rx that could apply but as you are
asking for suggestions I would put forward Arnica (has photophobia and
could cover the exacting cause being an injury to the eye albeit some
years previous and arnica is well known for 'touching' injuries from
long ago) and also Euphrasia (also has intense photophobia and a
general but really strong affinity to the eyes). But the sx regarding
the pain and any other sx produced would have to be taken into account
and like I said, the similimum could be any one of many rx. Joy

Is it just photophobia or pain with it-what kind of pain? Photophobia
in what kinds of light? What kind of light can you tolerate?

Yes, there is pain in the eye, especially in bright sunlight, oncoming
car headlights and computer or television screens. This is a sharp pain,
and there is a dull pain when I apply a small amount of pressure to the
eye with my finger. There is also a slight swelling of the eyeball.

Another note-- Portland, Oregon metro area probably has more homeopaths per
capita than most places with the exception of Calcutta or Bombay. Malcolm
Smith, ND, or Tom Kruzel ND for starters. In-person long term care, Jerry,
would be advisable for optimal result, if you can afford.

Has the eye been checked by an eye dr? Nature has decreed the eye as the
organ made to receive light!
Is a healing occurring due to previously given remedies? Is there a
tumor pressing on the optic nerve causing
the light sensitivity? This is an eye that has been blind for 53
years!!! I am a naturopath who uses homeopathy
as my favored medicinal therapy as it is not only effective, but humbling
to use! I am constantly in awe it can do!
But I also work with eyes and light (www.newhopetherapy.net) and
sometimes we need to stand back from the tree
in order to see the whole of the forest.

PS Don't hold it against me for hoping that previus remedies have
stimulated a healing in the eye. ;-)
