help for Mom

Many thanks to all who have taken the time and effort to respond. The situation is improving very slowly - but improving. I am unable to adequately 'factor in' the effects of the various drugs in Mom's system to understand if the remedies are simply slowed down or actually prevented from doing the full job I would normally expect of them. Also, while I know her to normally to be a person of great vitality - the picture I see before me is a fragile and almost frail person in pain - so I am far more hesitant about repeating and using higher potency - and of course impatient to see improvement. Your perspective, encouragement and guidance is greatly appreciated.

chronic one.

The discussion has taken an interesting turn - particularly the existance of certain old symptoms as if they had not been addressed and allowed to become chronic. I find this frequently in my geriatric clients - there are some old symptoms that persist due to structural damage (such as crushed vertebra, surgical blunders, etc.) that flare up (as from inflammation due to weather changes) - or experience re-injury - over time. Have you had success in completely removing symptoms from such structural damage? Up until now, I have simply factored them into the total picture of the case, and occasionally given 'as needed' cell salts to handle flare ups. How do you handle these?

Most of the time, in these types of situations, I place a lot of
responsibility onto the rx given and believe that action will be prompt
because it needs to be and if it isn't then I move on, either repeating
or to another potency if I really believe in the choice of rx or
speedily re-take the case and select another rx. Time is of the essence
and the simillimum will work and be seen to work (even through other
medications), it will always give you a positive sign - if it doesn't
then it probably isn't the simillimum.

I was referring to the chronicity of Nat mur - they tend to dutifully
endure sx for quite a long time, this helps to build that wall of
'protection' that they hide so well behind. A chronic Nat mur might
have required Ignatia or Bryonia at some point but the case has not
been addressed for whatever reason and then becomes chronic. But when
an acute case comes to be prescribed on the 'old sx' need to be put to
one side and not always factored into the new totality, i.e. an acute,
and most of the time these old chronic sx will recede into the
background somewhat anyway. If you bring them to the fore they can
complicate a case and the prescription will be too deep, too soon.

But when the acute has past then you go back to the older sx and treat
them. They can be stubborn sx, complicated, even incurable ones, but
you take the case just as you would for any other chronic condition. If
sx are being produced then you have a case to put together. Routine
prescribing of cell salts to handle flare ups aren't going to cure if
they are not the simillimum to the case - you are merely palliating,
but it depends on the requirement of each individual case.

Best wishes, Joy
