I don't think the story of Peter Pan is off-topic AT ALL.
And I think the last few pages of the original text will show you the
potential source of pain.

I was going to copy and paste those last few pages here, but -
delightful as they are, they would be probably too much of an
imposition on other list-members.

Not to forget there are adoption issues in the peter pan story that
relate directly to barrie's own life - maybe ask her is she was
adopted or has feelings about that. Joy

Aha - she has an "adopted" daughter who is a girl her daughter's age who came to live with them as a teenager with social services blessing after she ran away from home. She has never been formally adopted. However she specifically said the end of the Peter Pan story.

you could read all sorts of sexual connotations into the end of the
story - peter takes away the innocence of wendy's daughters, has them
flying around in ecstasy and each year comes back and takes another,
just like he did with wendy - but you could easily get carried away
with this and the simple way out would be to ask your client about it.

How did the Nit-ac work for her - nit-ac being extremely sensitive
towards other people's problems (although not sure about the so called
nymphomania)

I only gave her the Nit Ac this week. She is very sensitive towards other's problems. Maybe I will have to ask her exactly what part of the ending she is so sensitive to!!! But first I have to read it and I will while I am sat in the hairdressers in a few minutes!!

The thing that struck me about the end, was that love had been lost not
just once, but over and over and over, and in the end not even missed
or remembered--Wendy had grown up, and could now saw Peter only as a
little boy, and Peter so self-absorbed that he was perfectly content
with a string of "surrogate Wendys" and did not even remember what he
had lost.
