practicing Homeopathy in Malaysia

I have replied on the Beyond Homeopathy list on this.
The government did take steps to regulate homeopathy but up until today
it is not very clear yet the direction this is taking. There is an
umbrella body and more than 7 homeopathic associations under this body,
I have lost count of how many...Some of the associations are not very
ethical and give out certificates for money. I will not name names but I
would not be too trusting ..I will give more information if you email me
personally. Registration of homeopaths is done via the recomendation of
the umbrella body and one has to be a member of one of the associations
to be registered . I belong to the Homeopathic Medical Association of
Malaysia and I believe this to be the most ethical at this point in
time. This association conducts Diploma and BHMS course in homeopathic
medicine and we send our students to a Medical School ( University
Sumatra Utara) to learn anatomy and physiology.
Non Malaysians can only practice if they are employed by Malaysians and
not otherwise. No foreign organizations are allowed to establish any
alternative health or mainstream health clinics or hospitals except if
they have a Malaysian partner .

Suriya
