Sheri & all, Hi.

Disclaimer: ;-) This discussion is quite long. And the following answer stands by itself, i'm not necessarilily on one "side" or another of this debate.

It seems that it makes a big difference in differentiating the aetiology, which you might agree, can affect the prescription.

I seem to understand that you are saying that viruses, bacteria, etc are NOT the primary cause of disease. It is, as we certainly all agree, an imbalance in the Vital Force that causes disease.

However can I get you to agree that viruses, etc can be the secondary cause?

I would say that about 95% of people NOT using a net or other protection WILL get malaria in a high risk area. It's power to overcome the vital force in any human is tremendous. I would say too the same for persons drinking ameba-typhoid-or-giardia laden water.

So if you want to argue that its the vital force that's sick, yeah, go ahead. No problem.
The etiology is the malaria parasite, ameba, samonella typhi, or giardia. And yes, it makes a difference in the approach to treatment.

e.g. a headache caused by meningcocci or malaria would lead me to a different remedy than a constitutional migraine.

joint pains caused by brucella may lead me into a different direction than "rheumatism"

the NBWS typhoid sx is different than say.....ummm....well, [God knows what else looks like those strange collection of sx's ;-) ]

paralysis caused by polio might lead elsewhere than an iatrogenic paralysis

So yes, makes a difference to us to know if the disease is of acute infectious origins.

There is NO proof that the cause anything.

No, viruses may very well be doing a job repairing. We don't know as too
many lies about it all out there. Don't know if we will ever know the truth.
And it doesn't matter to us as homeopaths and our prescribing.

I don't think that it does. It is the symptom picture that we go on and we
don't really know what it is as Joy & Richard & I have said.

different remedy than a constitutional migraine.

#1 Constutional and acute prescribing is different
#2 I don't see why it matters what the headache is caused
by................the treatment will be the same.

"rheumatism"

you are talking acute vs chronic and Iagree. But the so-called cause of
the acute (germ, etc) doesn't matter.

yes but it doesn't matter what 'the cause' is.
??? - we have NO proof that polio was ever caused by a virus.

infectious origins.

Acute and chronic are different - that's what you seem to be saying in all
of the above
You are talking apples and oranges here

And it doesn't make a difference which so-called bacteria or virus in my
opinion for treatment.

Still don't see why you think it does.

In your understanding what would "proof" look like?
If injection / infection with the microbe, then the disease arises, and
then the microbes are recoverable from the patient--if that process
isn't "proof" to you, what is?

Then why does the patient recover when antibiotics are applied and the
"germs" killed off? Or, for that matter, when other (and quite likely
better) immune-boosting methods are applied--be it vitamins,
photoluminesence, or just general health-building--and the "suspect"
microbes disappear from the tissue? I guess I shouldn't keep harping
on antibiotics, since there are plenty of *other* ways to kill off
germs, too.

And then there is the whole issue of what they collect and look at.
Shannon, if you could just read the info I have sent and open your mind a
crack.
Do they recover totally - are they in better health than before? Is their
vital force stronger? Are their susceptibilities gone?

Or are their symptoms suppressed because their immune system & their vital
force injured is disturbed from the antibiotics so that they are not
capable of producing symptoms.

Health is NOT about killing off microbes.

Hi Sheri,
As I've said, I'm very happy to accept that there can be other causes
for the *symptom pictures* that we can AIDS and polio. I can happily
accept (and definitely acknowledge the importance, if true) that toxic
cases have been *mistakenly* diagnosed as contagious ones.

Are you trying to say that, because *some* cases of (apparent) AIDS or
polio are not caused by pathogens, that *none* of them are? That is
not a supportable leap.

Sheri, I've read bunches of it. Much of it is really fascinating, and
very useful!
But you are making leaps that I am unable to make--from "some diseases
are toxic rather than infectious" to "all diseases are toxic, not
infectious". I do not see it that way, and piling on more and more and
more examples of toxic diseases does *not* prove that they are *all*
toxic.

Taking my chicken pox examples--how kids "catch" it from others--. To
me that is straightforward infection. Nothing you've sent explains any
other way to see that. You're saying maybe it's something *other* than
the germs themselves? Okay, like what? The germs' bad hairdos, or
appalling sense of humor, or ??

You mean from treatment with these other methods? Sometimes, but not
necessarily. It depends.
But how is that relevant to this discussion...

Ah, from antibiotics in particular. No, of course antibiotics can only
*at best* leave you back where you were before the illness. (Tho if
you've done a good job with your illness, you'll have done other things
as well to help the healing.)

Okay, so you're suggesting maybe when I thought my pneumonia (for
instance) was "cured" by antibiotics, actually it's just that my VF was
so injured that it could not longer *express* the pneumonia, which if
I'd left it alone would have somehow cured me on a deeper level than
the ABs could? Well, death *is* said to be a cure for many things, and
in its time we should all welcome it. But how are you thinking I'd
have been better off dead than with antibiotics? (puzzled...)
Shannon

Health is also NOT about being killed off by microbes.

Dear Sheri

While I appreciate your emails on various health issues and some of the
information even gets me thinking. I may not agree with you on all
points but that is the whole beauty of this discussion list - exchange
of ideas.
I would like to give one small piece of advice - many of your mails on
polio, smon, scurvy etc were long 'essays'; that is not a problem but
when several come every day then reading them becomes a problem.

You then ask if I have read all of your mails!? My answer is: I try but
time is something I don't find everyday for this activity and and so a
lot of emails I get are labeled 'to read' - this in effect defeats the
purpose of the message the mails are giving. Wisdom also means saying
what you wish to say in fewest words possible while giving a clear
message. I hope you agree.

Thanks and regards,
Tauseef Khan
