Mycoplasma

Dear List,
Does any one have any suggestions on treating mycoplasma allergy.
The boy, a two year old, develops wheezing, tachepnea with high temperature
whenever first exposed to AC after the winter months are over.
Local paediatrician suggested that shutting down the AC for four-five months
during winter allows the fungal growth in the ducts and filter of AC and
when it is put on for the first time in summer the spores and all may come
out.
The boy lives in Dubai, UAE where winter temperature can be around 17 degree
C and in summer it is 45 degree C or more on an average.
Notably the boy didn't have any complaints in the winter even when exposed
to outside cold whether and wind. Also OK if he played in water (even at the
beach and sea).
Already had a few courses of antibiotics and a few jabs of steroids with
complete relief for the time being.
He is otherwise healthy with a little big head and sweating head. Not
offensive.
Appetite and thirst normal.
Likes Yoghurt, apple, chicken, eggs and sweet things.
Not much dislike or aversion.
Passes large amounts of stools says mother (and eats well too) two or three
times a day, which is normal in consistency.
Sleep also Ok except when he is having the problem when wakes up frequently
and cries mainly from nose block.
Had the history of five or six RTI attacks within the two years.
Growth and milestones normal except that not putting up as much weight as
used to be earlier.
Had a history of ricketsial attack found out by a routine X-ray chest at the
age of one and had Vit D injections.
Highly irritable and throws tantrums especially at night only when he is
having the complaints.
Mother says may be he is much angry and disturbed if his sleep is broken and
want to go back to sleep but cannot
This much is the information I had now
Hope some one can throw any light.
Thanking you, truly,
Dr. Abdul Gafar.
