Hello All,
I just prescribed Lycopodium to an ALS man who fits the "totality" of
symptoms for Lyc.
In the repertory, there is no mention of Lyc for ALS whereas in the MM
Lyc is said having upper limbs paralysis.
Why would the repertory not mention Lyc for ALS patients?
(ALS is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.)
Since giving him an LM, he has a feeling of well being which is what
we're looking for. So far so good.
Anyone had any experience with curing ALS? Any input on this would be
appreciated.

And that is what is important - you prescribe on the symptoms, not on the
disease name in most cases (though measles and a few others are in the rep).
It is the symptoms that are important.
It can be helpful to you to know the typical symptoms for ALS so you know
what is common with it. The homeopath's job is to find what makes this
person with ALS unique. What symptoms most need to be cured. What
symptoms limit the person most.

Look to other symptoms besides the allopathic diagnosis of ALS to help you
flesh out the remedy. If Lyc fits all else then Lyc is probably the remedy.
Hope you are using water potenices in this one too.
