Sheri, it is quite astonishing that you have to work so relentlessly to
convince people working within the field of homeopathy, heaven knows
what the challenge would be outside of that field. However I wanted to
ask you what your thoughts are regarding homeopathic prophylaxis vis so
called infectious states and epidemics (however small or large scale
they might be) and secondly I am also curious about how, if you were
working within a location where conditions such as those with disease
names as typhoid, cholera, typhus, meningitis, leprosy, thalassemia,
malaria, and many others, are prevalent - to what importance you place
on knowing and understanding the common course of direction of these
diseases as to understanding the dangers that might exist and how this
might effect the choice of rx and or potency and general management of

I agree that creating a fear-complex is part of modern medical
marketing - lots of times.

At the same time I am curious to know what about polio eradication,
control etc? In India polio was so rampant and so many children
walked with flaccid legs one time.Now there is a remarkable decrease
in incidence after implementing the global strategy that had made
several regions of the world polio-free. I could not see any other
measure that could have caused this change at least in India. In
1998 there were 1900 + cases in India of polio. Now the past 2 years
less than 200. This change has occurred within 6 to 7 years.
The strategy that has been followed is
1)High routine immunization
2)National Immunization Days - ( Pulse immunization)
3)Surveillance for Acute Flaccid Paralysis
4)"Mopping up" immunization in focal polio areas after a general
decrease of polio occurrence.

If you see the whole strategy is based on immunization, immunization
and more immunization.

This is not related to sudden improvement in nutrition or sudden
improvement of economy or psychological health. Not due to sudden
weakening of viruses (Are there viruses in the world at all?)

How do we explain this?

Did the polio immunization program only begin in India this recently,
or was it re-begun, or ? If it is your personal observation that the
cases have dropped so sharply, I (personally) consider that of much
greater interest, compared with "published statistics". One of the
problems with evaluating vaccination effectiveness in some places (e.g.
the US) has been that the "rules" and definitions were changed at the
same time, making it impossible to get any real view of just what the
effect had been--while making it *look* as tho the effect had been
perhaps more dramatic than was actually the case. So--I am especially
interested if this is your own observation, as well as "statistics"?

my understanding is that polio, like many other diseases, comes and
goes following their own bell curve. in the usa, where much was made
of the salk vaccine, polio was on the wane before the vaccine finally
hit the public scene. and it was far from an epidemic, which i understand
to mean at least a 10% infection rate of the public. and then we have
the aftermath where we are now seeing people who were vaccinated
manifesting polio sx. i recall 1 case where a woman who had polio when
younger, received the vaccine, was having polio sx 25-30 yrs later. so
once again it appears that supression rather than immunization is the
result of vaccines.

She had polio *and* the vaccine?
Was this "post-polio syndrome" (which I don't think is associated with
the vaccine, but rather with the incompletely resolve disease)?
