This is the answer I got when I asked an MS patient of mine what was in the homeopathic remedy his kinesiologist had given him a for suspected copper excess.

"Heaps of things, i've only used it twice, its a spray,i'm supposed to use it up to 4-6 times a day.It contains:alumina6c,30 c ,aurum met 6c ,30 c, cadmium sulph,cobaltum met,cuprum met,iridium met,mercurius vivus,niccolum met,palladium met, platinum met, plumbum met, stannum met,tallurium met,uranium nitricum and vanadium met(all 6c ,30c)in an ethanol solution. i hope i havent stuffed things up! I think i should perhaps cut down on some of these "therapies"as i get conflicting info on many things such as diet.I always mention the homeopathy so she should have known better if this is a problem. Please advise . "

I think the vanadium would definitely 'rot your socks' (it being a very
destructive rx) - but yes, this is really depressing to know this kind
of practice is happening - I'd be angry too Joy

Infuriating!

What is a *kinesiologist*, anyway? And why do they prescribe homeopathic
remedies?

Why single out kinesiologists? - I see it from 'homeopaths' too. I have a new client that just moved from UK to US and she was using several of these 'blends' from her 'qualified homeopath' in the UK. She was upset by my 'crude' and 'old fashioned' use of single remedies. There is an industry of producers of these 'blends' - they go to all the natural health trade shows and sell their stuff to MDs, dentists, massage therapists, herbalists, etc. They sell beautiful manuals, sponsor workshops, employ excellent sales staff, and push their materials very professionally - I think they use the mainline pharmaceutical model of business.

The only "homeopaths" in UK I have heard about that sort of prescribing from
are from those who trained abroad - often in Germany. Also the use of Dr R's
complex remedies from previously allopathic doctors or nurses who have
"trained" themselves in their use from the companies who supply them. They
don't tend to be members of the main homeopathic societies but of the
Complementary therapy societies although unfortunately this is not always
the case.

Interesting, the possible connection here. I emailed Jan Scholten about
your Lilac - Syringa Vulgaris. A man of very few words as you know, it took
2 emails to get the following:

I was hoping he might offer something from his forthcoming plant book, but
no luck. He did mention at his last seminar that he doesn't bother with
flower essences because he gets the same result with a homeopathic remedy.
Which suggests that the flower essence could give similar results to the
homeopathic remedy - a possibility?

Re the complex "homeopathics"... Years back I was treated for a while
with some of the complexes, and I have to say I was happy with the
effects. It's an entirely different process from single remedy
prescribing, and I've heard that patients who've had extensive
treatment with these complexes can be difficult or impossible to do
classical prescribing for--but if may be that these complexes are more
of a problem for classical prescribers than they are for the patients.
I've heard other instances where there wasn't any problem taking a
patient from one method to the other--don't know if it depends on how
long they'd been treated, or other factors.

Whatever they are, they're not the only ones prescribing these polypharmacy
combos.

I've encountered "nutritionists", "aromatherapists", "chiropractors",
"M.D.s", "naturopaths" and health food store stock clerks all "prescribing"
these things. One MD I know with a thriving practice in Toronto loves to
tell her patients to take remedies according to a "Lunar Schedule". Her
patients typically take 20 to 30 remedies plus a "constitutional" remedy,
several times a day for several weeks. The shopping list alone is enough to
make me anxious; the dosing schedule would drive anyone crazy (let alone the
fact that so many different remedies repeated so often for so long cannot do
anyone good in any way).

In fact, it infuriates me to know that this is actually what the public
thinks about when they think "homeopathy"...specifically, some brightly
coloured boxes with a big number on the label (UNDA, I'm talking to you!!)
or little boxes with names of diseases on the front, all containing bunches
and bunches of remedies chosen arbitrarily. Some of these "remedies" even
say they are based on the "German Homeopathic Pharmacopia".

Is there such a thing as a German Homeopathic Pharmacopia which features
polypharmacy combinations? It would have to be enormous to accomodate all
the potential combos in these patent remedies.
