I have been reminding people for some years that the Hahnemann's view

did this because in some circles this fact was being side lined by more
metaphysical concepts. I wished to show that Hahnemann is the Founder of
modern epidemiology and that we need to bring this aspect of his work up to
date. Epidemiology is a very important study in medicine and homeopathy has
a lot to offer in the field. The use of the group anamnesis has the
potential to supply genus remedies that can prevent, abort and treat the
acute, half acute, and chronic miasms. This method can be used for present
common infections, the reappearance of old epidemics as wells as the
resistant stains and new infections crossing species lines. I believe this
is a very important point that must not be forgotten.
Nevertheless, the homoeopathic study of miasms also raises some very
profound questions about innate constitution and temperament,
constitutional terrain, predisposition, susceptibility, hereditary states,
acquired states and the classification of chronic symptoms into homogeneous
groups. The chronic miasms are so interwoven with constitutional terrain
and predisposition that they provide much insight into the human condition
in general. One cannot acquire "Psora" unless the susceptibility to psora
is already present in the constitutional terrain. Psoric susceptibility is
already a disease state that holds the seeds of Psora, the skin miasma.
Changes in the constitutional terrain normally involve a number of
interrelated factors that come together depending on time and
circumstances. Nutritional deficiency is a major factor in disease. Mineral
deficiencies causes internal symptoms AND opens the suffer up to
infections. There is no doubt about this. The minerals are the building
blocks of the human constitution so it is no surprise that they should play
a role in the treatment of chronic diseases, whether based on infections or
not. The lighter period minerals seem to provide many good remedy for what
we call psora and pseudopsora TB. The heavier minerals provide many
remedies effective for treating sycosis and syphilis. The radioactive
elements may provide assistance in some cancers. This, however, does not
mean mineral deficiencies should be called "miasms".
I would imagine if I could talk to Hahnemann privately his Deist and
Mason background would also acknowledge the importance of the psyche,
psychology and existential dilemmas. The mind plays a certain role in the
decline of human being. Hahnemann himself wrote in the first sentence of
the introduction of the Organon that as long as humanity existed it has
been exposed, individually and collectively, to disease of physical and
moral causes. Then he points out that with rapid civilization and
populations the situation has become and more complex. This statement is
very profound. I only wish I could have a late night discussion with him
about this! I think this would lead to many insights into his inner views.

observe. A person is exposed to meningitis and suffers swelling in the
brain and spine. The patient is bitten by a rapid dog and gets hydrophobia.
A person has sex with an infected persons and gets gonorrhea N. These
causal circuits are very close ended. The group anamnesis can be used to
find remedies that may prevent, abort of cure these disease states. Too
many persons are forgetting this very real very important aspect of the
study of the miasms. Epidemiology is an very important factor in the
homoeopathic medical system.
Disease TB and malaria still kill 1 000,000s! Homoeopathic methods and
genus remedies can make a real impact here! A recent study I saw on
malaria and Homoeopathy in India showed effective treatment with known
genus remedies. Over 70% of the confirmed cases blood test's were clear in
only 1 month!!! Let us not forget this essential aspect of Hahnemann's
miasm teachings. Inherited states are much more complicated and we may
never know the real causes but we can still go by the symptoms to find
remedies! The idea of the miasmic circle is a good image.
Hahnemann was very well aware of the work of Pythagoras and Hippocrates
in the area of constitution and temperament and the Mappa Mundi. The Mappa
Mundi is based on the primordial homoeomeries. The term "homoeomeries"
means the similars from which all things are made. For example, the entire
human genome is made up of 4 chemicals. In physics we speak of the four
forces; strong nuclear forces, weak nuclear forces, gravity and
electromagnetism. And of course there is the mystery of space and time. The
ancients symbolized these basic powers by the images of ether, air, fire,
water and earth. These same powers are reflected in human beings as the
vital force and the 4 temperaments; the dry/hot choleric, wet/cold
phlegmatic, hot/moist sanguine and cool/dry melancholic four humors bile,
phlegm, blood and atrabile and their symptoms.
No well educated doctor in Hahnemann's day was ignorance with these
terms. One can find references to the four temperaments in Hahnemann's
written works and casebooks. This is another way within homeopathy to
classify constitution, terrain, predisposition, and disease classifications
that is very profound. In the system I use the homoeomeries and their
positive and negative qualities come first and then disease classifications
including the miasms. Some are turning the miasms into the primordial
homoeomeries because there is a need in the human psyche for penetrate
these deeper archetypal regions of phenomena. This is understandable
because the relationships do match up!
Antiquated my foot! If one understands the basics introduced by
Hahnemann the method is NOT antiquated! Infectious miasmic classifications,
the group anamnesis, and the genus remedies contain the seeds of the
epidemiology of the future! Western Homoeopathy is very mentalist,
philosophical and spiritually oriented. I guess they don't don't treat
virulent acute diseases like cholera, typhoid, meningitis, malaria or
chronic states like leprosy, TB and active VD, etc. In the West most
serious cases are in the allopathic hospitals. In India they are at your
doorstep! We see Psora in all its most virulent forms including diseases
that are no longer seen in the West. I had a case of elephantiasis
compounded with leprosy that responded very well to Hydrocotyle Asiatica!
In Asia I was forced to get back to the basics introduced by Hahnemann!
Most of you folks don't have to deal with this harsh reality today BUT
one can predict that the day is coming that YOU will. The microorganism are
mutating, resistant strains are biding and window for so-called effective
antibiotic is closing. The inner terrain of human beings is decaying for a
number or reasons and the immune system is weakening. With
immuno-deficiency, over population, a degraded environment and increased
global warming more infectious miasms are crossing species lines and
spreading into new areas. With air travel virulent new infections and old
resistant strains could be at your doorstep in 24 hours! When all "hell"
breaks loose and plagues of Biblical proportions appear one had better have
learned their basics when it comes it infectious miasms!
