8 y.o is obsessive ...specifically regarding the MAIL...wants to sort it ,
handle it. ...constantly...leads to such anticipatory excitement he flushes
and trembles.
Arg. nitricum comes up for much of the picture..but he lacks the fears of
arg n. ..acutually, he seems to have no fears.
i'm not looking for a solution ....just ideas...

Can you find out more about what's behind this obsession? It could help to
clarify which group of remedies to look at.

I would offer that the trembling and flushing are just as important as
the anticipation as this relates directly to 'sensation, location,
extension', i.e. it is how the primary sx follows through - so how

Whilst I agree with Joy and Rosemary that a little more info would be
appreciated, if he looks like Arg.n., have you considered Argentum
Metallicum (Arg.)? It is listed in Complete under compulsive
disorders; is conscientious about trifles, has discolouration of the
face (red), and trembling. Much fewer fears, with fear of insanity
(and 'mania') being in keeping with what you write. Digby writes of
"Phobias, impulses and irrational thoughts. Rituals."

It doesn't seem to have 'anticipation' nor 'anticipatory anxiety'
however; only Apprehensions and :

Excitement, excitable: agg. {17> 42> 0} [116]
Excitement, excitable: general. {101> 285> 0} [58]
Exhilaration. {19> 113> 0}
FANCIES: REPRODUCES FORMER EXCITING THINGS, ALL AFTERNOON

Would you think he comes in under this rubric? :

aha! my repertory doesn't have this.
also, Arg met. is very interesting..Scholten in Homeopathy and MInerals
cites several
cases . In each he was led astray by the desire to give Cal, Puls or
Lyc...however they
shared a subtle arrogance , excitability and the red flushes et al.
I failed to mention before the other obsession he has intensely is for
sweets..

good question. the child is on the autistic/aspberger spectrum so it's
difficult to understand what's motivating him. he is a sweet 'calcarea' like
child. but he has this intensity around the mail..finding it , sorting it..he
flushes, trembles, becomes hyper animated, laughs but quickly turns to anger if
thwarted and as quickly returns to laughter. .
i'm considering Crocus Sativa...........

i agree .
he doesn't have the lethargy of gels. , he is more alert, not ominously, but
'ready'.

Doesn't have to have the lethargy - you have to remember that Gels is
part of the same plant group as Nux vomica. With Gels this is seen as
trembling, twitching, nervous, lack of fear, emotional excitement,
hysteria, flushing - not a side you often see but it is most definitely

Interesting rubric, Barbara. (Compulsive disorders - ritualistic) What
repertory is it from?

Tuberculinum might also be worth looking at for this patient (looking at the
list of remedies in this rubric). But of course we on the list don't have
the totality of the case, so...

one next to it (not for Bonnie's case, but OCD generally).

Bearing in mind I have little info on the most of the rxs mentioned in
there - I guess it might be a cancer miasm thing!

Out of interest, has anyone here ever treated Tourette's ? I was just
reading earlier that Scholten feels that Zinc-phos would be extremely
helpful with this, as it comes within this 'compulsion' spectrum.
