The 'top ten' seems to be wrong to me right from to concept to execution. If
one thought the list is for living ones , it is proved wrong by the
inclusion of ML Sehgal. But at the same breath, we wonder why not Dhawale,
Seshachari, Issac, BR Das, Phatak, Bannerjee etc in the same criterion ?
Perhaps their PR record is poor than their medical work.

Again the organisers would better add 'English speaking' to the list of
qualifications of such qualifiers. No German or others find mention there.

Also, surprising omissions are SK Bannerjee, Will Taylor, Jugal Kishore,
Praful Vijaykar. But tell me, is it 'making the right noises, at right
places' which do the trick?

Further to receiving the comments and questions about top ten nominees, I would like to explain few points in this regard.
The main goal and mission of this program is making publicity and appreciation for the sincere efforts of Homeopaths who have dedicated their life and knowledge to the treatment of patients and the development of Homeopathy. The professionals whose abilities are not properly appreciated because they courageously selected to follow an 'off-topic' science and detach themselves from majority of medical society. They are so capable that if they had followed conventional medicine, they would in the best positions with the highest wages and top university and academic degrees. But they chose what they thought was correct.
How many persons you know to be ready to sacrifice his/her convenience for goodness of others? Should these efforts not be recognized?
Such dedications have an inevitable consequence on the person's popularity. Therefore we decided to use an international nomination and voting as the first step of choosing the candidates because it is the best way for measuring the popularity of candidates and finding unsung heroes. We even did not announce any list beforehand to avoid any bias or prejudice suggestion to voters. Also we have not considered any academic or scientific criteria for the first step and left the result only to the level of popularity. It is clear that being alive or dead has not been an inclusion or exclusion criteria in this voting. The same for language as you see we have Greek, French, Iranian and Italian nominees in the list of second week.

Therefore if you see some famous Homeopaths are absent in this list, the only reason is poor attendance of their fans on this occasion. The only thing that guarantees the correctness of the result is your votes. If you believe the results are not fair enough, just take 5 minutes and submit your opinion. Be assure every vote will be counted.

Dear Students and Colleagues,

I personally believe that notoriety has nothing to do with how good a
homoeopath might be in practice. I am known on the WWW because I have been
teaching the basics on the Internet for many years. It is my backyard. I
have colleagues who will never be known except to the patients they see yet
they do great work! I am going to dedicate my vote to those 1000s of
unknown workers who face the clinic day in a day out. They make up the true
backbone of Homoeopathy not a few "big mouths" like me in the WWW or those
who spend their time doing the seminar circuit. Perhaps, we only qualify as
the biggest egos in Homoeopathy not the better the practitioners!

Of course, my top appreciation list starts with personages like
Hahnemann, Boenninghausen, Hering, Jahr, Dunham, Lippe, T.F. Allen, Kent,
Clarke, Boger, Roberts, Close, Nash, etc., because without them we would
have no books on philosophy, or repertories or materia medicas! Where would
we be then? I also feel appreciation for Dr. Whitmont who integrated
Jungian psychology and Homoeopathy for over 50 years. He opened the door to
the Unconscious and invited us all in! He asked us to look deeper into
ourselves and others and understand archetypal powers and mythologems. I'd
like to thank G. B. Stearns for his research into the ERA-ART phenomena and
providing the electrodynamic basis of understanding and selecting remedies
and potencies. This has really helped me when I am lost in a maze of
confusion. I might add that Whitmont also used Autonomic Reflex Testing to
confirm his remedies and potencies.

In India there has been many past greats like Drs. Banerji, Dhawale, P.
Sankaran, Phatak, etc. What about Dr. Jugal Kishore, Dr. Ramankrishan, and
great homoeo-scientists like Dr. Vijarakar? It was the grandfather Dhawale
that made sure we got Boger's Boenninghausen Repertory and Characteristics
and General Analysis in the 1930s and his son taught many to use these
works and Kent's Repertory over the next generation. Now Now his son is
carrying on the family work. Dr. Rajan Sankaran, Dr. Shaw, Dr. Anand, etc.,
have offered us insights in the 3 worlds. They have helped to move
Homoeopathy forward into new areas. My old colleague Dr. Issac now has 5
generations of homoeopaths in his family! These people are literally "born"
into Homoeopathy and they are not alone.

What about Jan Scholten who asked us to look deeper into the periodic
table? David Warkenten and G. Vithoulkas brought us computerized
repertories that have greatly advanced our effectiveness. George's
contributions in the 1970s were part of a turning point in the rebirth of
our art and he is still working hard today. What about all the others
making programs? What about modern repertory builders like Roger Zandvoort
and Schroyens who stimulate each other to go deeper and deeper? What about
the greatest historian of our times, the late, great Julian Winston? These
are only a few names pulls out of a hat we are familiar with. What about
the hats we don't wear?

What about M. Mangialovori's work with the MM? What about Shore,
Norland, and Beckley and others who run good schools in England. What about
Dr. Cook's work with BIH and the BIH teachers? What about those running
good schools in the USA and elsewhere?They are doing the tireless work of
starting novices out every year. How about Will Talyor? What about Dr.
Luc's work with the medicinal solution, etc? What about the Morisons
contributions over the years? What about Vermulen's MMs? What about Lou
Klein's and NASH? What about those behind the CHC? What about all the
organizing and political work Dana Ullman does? Not everyone can do this
type of service! What about all the work in German I can't read!!! Let us
not be Anglo-centric about it!

What about all those working on provings? What about all those who
offer their body and mind in provings? They are true unsung heros who feel
pain so others will gain. What about E. Brousellian and his father who
translated Kent's Repertory into French! What about H. Choudhury, who
brought the LM potency to 100,000s in India and Bangladesh starting in the
1950s, when will it was virtually unknown in the West? What about our own
Dr. Ardavan who has worked so hard to bring Homoeopathy to their Iran and
the middle East and gave us this list so classical homoeopaths could have a
place to share! Such persons change the history and health of nations! And
there are many more who we may never hear about! If we speak of one we
leave out another. If I have left YOU out it is because this is an
impossible task.

The more I think about it the less I feel it is fair to speak of anyone
without mentioning everyone, which impossible because we don't even know
them all! I give my vote to the tireless silent majority who work for
humanity. My list of the ""top 10" runs into 100s, not vertically, but
horizontally in a circle not a vertical line that goes from top to bottom.
The old linear hierarchies should give a way to a Gestalt pattern in which
the whole is more than the sum of its parts. We are all parts of the
greater body of Homoeopathy. No one person, no one method, and no one's
experience can stand on its own. We are a totality connected by our
essential nature not single parts or independent entities.

I would also give my vote of appreciation to new students who are brave
enough to take the time to learn our art properly. They are the future and
without them all would be lost. If I can stimulate them to learn the
foundation and move forward step by step and spend the 5 years it really
takes to learn the basics then I have done something worthwhile. If I can
help them settle themselves in the first five years of running a practice
it is worth my time. If I can stimulate my colleagues to take a deeper look
at classical material that will make their cases go better than I am happy.
I can point them in toward the best of the new material and help them sift
the wheat from the chaff then I am satisfied. A good guide always tries to
point the way forward and help others to go beyond where they have been
able to go. They try to help others to be the best they can be and know
when it is time to step aside and let others grow in their own way.

poor and disadvantaged for little or no remuneration

I am interested though in the motive behind this current 'for he's a
jolly good fellow' campaign
I would be more likely to have supported it were it part of a global
drive to bring homeopathy to public awareness, but unless more is
being done that we know nothing about, this just looks like a back
slapping excecise to me and I really don't see the point of that

David: The above statement is completely erroneous. Your list postings (as
well as your web site writings ) have been the greatest influence in helping
me become a better practitioner. You have an amazing ability to elucidate
the depths of homeopathy in a manner that is both enlightening as well as

As I have been the first person who propound a comment like yours, I think it is my moral responsibility to tell my opinion about it now again after following 3 weeks of their efforts.
First of all, there was one point in your comment that I could not understand. What is the meaning of " I would be more likely to have supported it were it part of a global
drive to bring homeopathy to public awareness, but unless more is being done that we know nothing about" . As I see in this program the evaluation committee, nominees and voters are all from different parts of the world. Is there any other new meaning for "Global"?

As far as I observed in their emails and announcements, I never seen any try to even promote their courses (However as Shannon said Fairly: Advertising" is not necessarily a bad thing!"). Even less than a dedicated and famous homeopath like you that insert your website (Simon King, http://www.Homeopathy-Help.net) below every email that is full of your merits (And honestly they are really impressive).
Overall I believe it was one of the most dedicated programs that I have ever seen but I quiet agree with you in one point that it is better to see such programs from the side of well known organizations in the future. I am sure you and your colleagues will be the organizer of next non-profit program for drawing awareness of world to Homeopathy. Account on me for that program.
