Hi,

Does anyone have any ideas on the following case:
(I'm mainly wanting to know if anyone has come across the following
dream)

Male patient, aged 31, doing computer programming, but not employed,
due to chronic fatigue syndrome. Still stays with parents.

In past, occassinally had following dream:
Desire/urge to urinate, so looks for toilet but when gets to bathroom
can't urinate because either someone else is there or there isn't a
toilet in the room (so can't mess on the floor). So then looks for
another place, and similar thing happens.

The main feeling is an urging to do his own thing without criticism
or comment from other people.

some main features of the case:
chronic fatigue syndrome, very chilly, needs to eat often, great
difficulty sleeping. Very restless and gets into a cycle of: works on
computer until overtired and mind stuck on thinking about problem
he's working on, then difficult to sleep, can't relax well, wakes up
feeling fatigued and restless, and desires for stimulating work at
the computer, and so on.

The dream relates to his main complaint in that he has this strong
urging to work on the computer (programming related - restless work,
going from one thing to the next), feels can't do anything else, and
inevitably someone comes to disturb him saying he should be doing
something else, or they need the computer or need him to do something.

There is an aspect of nat-m (unable to urinate in public),
but there are also strong aspects of restlessness and feelings of
deprivation bordering on torment.

Lac-c and Sepia have dreams of urinating but here the dream isn't
actually of urinating - it's of urging to urinate.

The remedies in synthesis for Dreams-desire for urinating (agath-a,
kali-n, kreos, merc-i-f), don't fit the case, so am wondering if
anyone out there has any experience with such a dream.

Any suggestions or comments will be much appreciated.

would offer the rubric 'Fear of being unable to reach his destination'

Just reflections and no repertorisation, but I think the 'urging' on
the emotional and physical level is what is significant for the remedy
needed? It is almost as though he exhausts himself with this urge
(CFS). Besides Nat.mur, Ambra Gris also has embarrassment about
urinating in public, but so have the following :

Bladder; URINATION; Retarded, must wait for urine to start; alone, can
only pass urine when (m, 7) (7) : ambr., hep., Lyc., mur-ac., NAT-M.,
psil-s., tarent.
Mind; COMPANY; Aversion to, agg.; presence of; people intolerable to
her; urination, during (m, 6) (6) : ambr., hep., lyc., mur-ac.,
NAT-M., tarent.

I'd also look at feelings of persecution (del. persecuted, and cross
references), plus there seems to be some feelings of inadequacy,
together with wanting to 'get it right' and not succeeding (succeeds
never?) He can't seem to 'eliminate' nor 'create' what he would like?
Some more well-known dreams including urination are about being
seen whilst doing so, and this is maybe just a variation on this -
maybe your Lac c. suggestion is worth exploring if there is
shame-based behaviour, or tormented inadequacy.

Without the rest of the case, it is difficult to see the particular
'pattern', so the above are really only shots in the dark.

and issues around being "observed"?

Do you have information about what he and his life were like before the
chronic fatigue came on, and what may have started it?

Consider Phos-acid. The acids always should be considered in CFS. Must eat often, dreams of urinating, workaholic = lack of exercise, all point to the possible onset of Diabetes M II. Phos-Ac, one of the best rem for the initial onset of DMII.

and desire for stimulation; afaik phos-ac, is more the opposite (or
perhaps later stage..) - breakdown, lying in bed,
