non-vaccine measles exposure causing croup?

It was just proposed to me that my son maybe getting what seems like reoccuring croup due to possibly being exposed to a couple kids who had been vaccinated with MMR.
Has anyone seen a child presenting with croup like symptoms...barking/choking type cough, worse at night, better by about 9am...sometimes a light fever though nothing to merritt any treatment but otherwise healthy and happy. When he is in the midst of this the cough can be very bad and he will have trouble catching his breath and getting a good deep breath in seems painful. He also gets tightness in the chest and makes a wheezing noise when he sleeps. I am not one to jump at taking him to the doctor but this keeps happening.
It started with a very traditional case of croup. It wasn't fun but no complications, gave antivirals and it went away. My daughter also got it but not my oldest son (he had it before and generally doesn't get sick). Since then every few weeks he seems to get it again for just a couple days. Not as bad for as long but we still have about 2 nights where I worry about him and make him sleep in a room closer to mine.
He and his sister are not vaccinated for anything. They were however exposed to at least two kids in this time frame who were vaccinated with MMR. This has all happened within the last 6 or so months. They are kids at church whom at least my daughter has regular close contact with.
I ask all of this because if this is a possiblity I am wondering if doing a measles clearing might make this go away? Has anyone seen another child present in a similar manner? Other than this my son is really a healthy child. Small colds every so often but in our climate he is among the healthy ones. He gets over stuff very quickly.
If I need to take him to our peds/homeopath I will gladly. It just seems like once you get to the doctor they look just fine and they think you are crazy! By 9am he is looking pretty good and our homeopath is an hour away with no traffic.
Any advice welcome, I know specific remedies are not something you are going to recommend. I am just wondering which direction I should take this.
