Arnica use

I would like opinions or advice on using Arnica on a long term basis. My
son plays soccer and Arnica in various potencies has proved very
beneficial - or seems to since he heals quickly.
Since the season began about two months ago, he has had an injured ankle,
a broken nose, pulled hamstring (rhus tox also for this), and now a
swollen bruised thigh from a direct hit. If I can find it, I start with
a 30C, move to a 200C and use these in water for a few doses. I have
also used a 1M with no repeats. Any thoughts are welcome. It seems like
I am over medicating but he wants to heal quickly to not miss games.
Thanks
Laura Peterson

it seems to me that if the 'case' calls for it, use it. i use rhus v every
summer for poison ivy--for the past 6-7 yrs. i always worry that
it will no longer work for me, but so far it does. i have found that
30c does nothing for me and usually start at the 200c level-daily!
if that seems to not work, i have used 1M if the case gets too
extreme.

In your son's case as long as the Arnica is being used up, which it sounds
as if it is, then that is fine. You are giving it on indicated symptoms so
that is OK.

yeah I bet he does!

So now he has the view that its OK to not worry bout injury cos he
can rely on Arnica to sort it out

Most of my martial arts mates turned arnica down except for serious
injury as they believed they became stronger letting the system sort
itself out
Hmm where have I heard that before?

I used to take Arnica 30c before every football game I played and I am
sure that it helped with both stamina and recovery from kicks etc.
I am now a bit past it but if I played again I certainly would take
one tablet before the game.

How about using the Arnica cream. Not the kind in the HFS but the
real thing ordered from a Homeopathic Supplier.
I do Massage/Body work and it's great on my hands, wrist and arms.
Bodywork is good for him too!! Needs his muscles decongested/deep
tissue.
I seem to recall someone writing in how to make their own Arnica
cream. forget how..... you use the tincture?
Anyone remember how to make it?

I make my own creams. I use approx 5-10% of a 1:5 standard tincture to 90%
cream and give it a shake. I am lucky in that my husband manufactures body
lotion and he makes me up a batch with no colouring or perfume in it. It
only has essential preservatives and nothing bad. I have never known it
irritate even a child's skin. I make chamomile with burdock and red clover
tinctures for eczema and urticaria in it if it itches. I also make Hypercal
and Arnica creams. I use herbal tinctures as they are so much cheaper than
homeopathic ones which tend to be 1x.

He deals in little bottles and makes me 1 litre which lasts me ages. Where

Thanks to everyone who replied to my query. The bruise is healing and
should be well enough for a game tomorrow.
