Minutus

I have had trouble with my tonsils for years. As I am writing this I
am recovering from a bout of tonsilitis. Short of a tonsilectomy what
are the best ways to prevent and deal with this affliction? As things
are right now my fever has broken and the swelling is going down; but
my throat is still tender and I feel a little but like I was hit by a
Mac Truck. Any adivce whould be appreciated.
