The Avian Flu - What They Are Not TellingYou
"FOWL! What They're Not Telling You about the Avian Flu"
With the hysteria surrounding the threat of an impending Global Pandemic,
it is time to offset the
media and pharmaceutical company-driven hype with the TRUTH about the avian
flu virus (H5N1)
currently in the news.
Join noted vaccine researcher Dr. Sherri J. Tenpenny as she addresses
important questions like:
o What are the symptoms of the bird flu in humans?
o How does the bird flu spread?
o Can there be a pandemic without sustained human-to-human transmission?
o Can you contract the avian flu from eating the meat or eggs of an
infected chicken?
o Are the flu drugs and vaccines they're recommending really effective?
o Are the suggested and controversial adjuvants safe for use?
And most importantly…
o What you can do protect yourself and your family.
"FOWL! What They're Not Telling You about the Avian Flu" offers a rational
and balanced look at not
only the science and history of the virus, but the possible dangers and
shortcomings of the proposed
solutions. Federally mandated vaccinations, travel restrictions and forced
quarantines are already in
discussion. Fowl! shows that there is more hype than substance behind the
Avian Bird Flu scare.

PHARMAS SEEK FLU VACC. SUIT SHIELD
Saturday, October 15, 2005 - FreeMarketNews.com
In Europe, Asia, South and North America governments clamor for bird flu
vaccines - and they may have them so long as the pharmaceutical companies
are indemnified against lawsuits. The U.S. Senate has already approved an
amendment by Iowa's Democratic Senator Tom Harkin, adding $3.9 billion to a
military appropriation for preparations for the expected outbreak. That
money is earmarked for stockpiling medications to combat the virus, if it
does occur, and also, reportedly for "immunity from lawsuits if a
vaccination causes harm," according to an article in the Washington insider
publication, The Hill.
The additional money is not something that either the administration nor
Capitol Hill wants to bring to the attention of consumers, perhaps for fear
of casting doubt on the efficacy of the vaccines that are to be developed.
Yet it does, again, raise questions about vaccines in general that have
become increasingly strident in the wake of the controversy regarding the
mercury-containing vaccine preservative Thimerosol which is held by some to
trigger developmental conditions such as autism. Thimerosol, ironically,
has been removed from most vaccines but is still generally found in those
for the flu.
As the Internet has again made non-mainstream reporting feasible, those
health care practitioners working outside of the pharmaceutical/medical
model along with concerned parents and other consumer watchdog groups have
begun to question not only the safety of vaccines with Thimerosol, but the
efficacy of vaccines in general. There is a case to be made, for instance -
one that apparently includes strong epidemiological evidence - that the
vaccinations developed for some original diseases such as smallpox and
polio were seen as efficacious not because they worked but because these
diseases were actually fading fast as a result of the industrial
revolution, better nutrition and better hygiene. According to this theory,
vaccines have been given credit for alleviating or even eradicating
diseases that would not have persisted in any case.
What is certainly true is that vaccines were far more controversial at the
turn of the last century than they are today; critics increasingly hold
that there has been a fairly disciplined campaign over the years to remove
negative information from the historical literature and from popular
reference books such as Encyclopedias as well. The controversy may yet
continue to build given that vaccine manufacturers already have to struggle
with various uncomfortable issues including a recent CDC study that
confirmed the 2004 flu vaccine only had a beneficial effect on between
5-15% of those who received it.
Meanwhile, those who cite the Spanish Flu epidemic as a reason to
distribute bird flu vaccine may be leaving out a point cited by at least
some historical annals of that pandemic currently available on the Net -
that Spanish Flu was apparently the result, at least partially, of an
Allied vaccine program and a subsequent inoculation campaign by vaccine
manufacturers to use up stock at the end of the war. These aggressive
measures combined with the wretched health and hygiene of the First World
War and the dissemination into civilian society of tends of thousands of
infected men helped create the pandemic which killed millions. Also down
the memory hole is apparently a popular saying of the time, that
vaccinations killed up to seven times more soldiers than pandemic itself.
Today, there is no specific human-mutated bird flu virus that calls for a
vaccine and thus, in fact, one cannot exist. Yet as a result of the
possibility that a bird flu vaccine might at some point be needed, the U.S.
government, according to the New Scientist, has managed to recreate the
Spanish Influenza virus and has actually tested it in a "heavily
quarantined" laboratory in Atlanta. The structure of the virus has also
been widely disseminated in scientific publications.
If a bird flu vaccine were necessary, it would be distributed in the form
of dead vaccine, and yet accidents happen. In April, more than 4,000 vials
of a strain of vaccine almost as deadly as the Spanish Influenza were sent
out to testing facilities around the world - a move that left officials red
faced and the labs scrambling to destroy the samples immediately.
Finally, there is always the possibility that once created, the deadlier
forms of flu vaccine can be used for purposes other than research.
Terrorists, for instance, might be able to obtain samples and unleash a
virulent infection upon the world. Even more unimaginable yet still within
the realm of possibility, say some neo-vaccine prohibitionists, is that a
struggling Western or third world government might choose to release
vaccine in order to create a disastrous public health situation that would
distract attention and might even give those in power the possibility of
gaining further power, as chaos mounted through some sort of militarization
of society. While this probably could not happen in the most advanced
Western cultures, many agree, with their well-established traditions of
civilian rule, there are certainly potentialities in various regions for
this sort of scenario to play out.
In general, governments may be partial to vaccines - whether they work or
not - because they are possibly the mightiest metaphor available for all
that big government's proponents want to believe is "good" in government.
They are truly massive programs and, at almost every turn, there is an
opportunity for governments to remind their citizens that such
"immunization" would not be possible without big government organization
and generous cash contributions. Yet, despite the urge to exhibit such
ponderous giveaways, there is probably no reason for governments to thrown
hundreds of millions at pharmaceutical companies for the production of a
bird flu vaccine. Again, there are questions as to the general efficacy of
flu vaccines; also such a vaccine cannot be produced until there is a human
form of bird flu; even if it were then produced, it probably wouldn't be
effective for another six months to a year, by which time the pandemic
probably would already have run its course.
Unfortunately, in both the United States and France, human bird-flu vaccine
is already being produced. Only this month, the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services awarded Sanofi a $97 million contract to develop a new
type of flu vaccine. Those concerned with the development and spread of
these vaccines - well in advance of anything that they might be effective
against - have vowed to generate a significant mass movement of call-ins to
the U.S. municipal, state and federal government asking that further work
on bird-flu vaccines be halted. These individuals, including individuals
prominent in alternative health care point out that proper hygiene, large
doses of vitamin C and the application of "essential oils" are well known
inhibitors of flu-type sicknesses. Vaccines, however, are known to suppress
immune systems - a dangerous effect during the beginnings of a pandemic.
Due to the continued controversy over the bird flu vaccine and vaccines in
general, there is perhaps more industry concern than had been expected in
official circles, anyway, about potential liability acting as "a deterrent
for wider participation." This too is acting as a retardant of new flu
vaccinations. - ST

As of now, so far as we know, on Planet Earth about 60 people out of 6
billion have died of bird flu. All were involved in handling sick birds.
There is, as of now, no recorded case of bird flu being transmitted from
one human to another - something that is necessary before even an epidemic,
much less a pandemic, could occur.
An epidemic is a widespread outbreak of a disease in a particular community
at a particular time. A pandemic is an outbreak of disease in a whole
country or in several countries. Pandemics occur, on the average, every 30
to 40 years.
What I'm trying to do is add some perspective to the current semihysteria
being whipped up by politicians and the media. Certainly the virus that
causes bird flu could mutate so that it could be transmitted from human to
human. Such mutations, while typical of viruses, ordinarily occur over a
period of years, not overnight.
If you are inclined toward hypochondria, reading an article on viruses in a
good encyclopedia will give you the creeps. There are zillions of them, but
fortunately most of them are harmless. They are not really critters, but
parasitic bits of protein that have to attach themselves to living cells.
They are so small, they can only be seen by an electron microscope, which
was invented in the 1940s. A Russian in 1892 and a Dutchman in 1898 began
to suspect that there was some kind of infectious agent that was not a
bacterium or a microorganism. Whatever it was, it was small enough to pass
through a porcelain filter that stopped bacteria. That fact, by the way,
should limit one's faith in latex as protection against viral infections.
So, before you let politicians, the media, the pharmaceutical companies and
the grant hogs at the National Institutes of Health scare you with stories
about being wiped out by a bird-flu pandemic, consider the following: If
you are more than 50 years old, you've already lived through two pandemics
of flu and probably didn't even know it.
At any moment, some new virus might appear that would cause mankind big
problems. Earth is a hazardous environment. Humans are all mortal. The only
people who have ever gotten off the planet alive are astronauts and
cosmonauts.
If the bird-flu virus should mutate so that it can travel human to human,
there is no vaccine for it. It would have to be treated with the old
methods of trying to isolate those infected with it. The only thing
individuals could do to protect themselves would be to avoid crowds, stop
picking their noses or using their fingers as toothpicks, and wash their
hands several times a day.
At any rate, pandemics - even the bad one in 1918-1919 - run their course
and stop on their own, usually in a year or two. Even the 1918 one killed
only about 550,000 Americans, and so it is well to keep in mind for
perspective purposes that, on average, 2 million of us die every year from
one cause or another.
I'm just trying to say keep a stiff upper lip and don't let the new
phenomenon of 24/7 television tie your knickers in a knot. It is the nature
of that business to be in a continuing state of fretting about something.
It was one of Shakespeare's characters, I think, who put the matter so
well: We all owe God a death, so if we pay today we are quit for tomorrow.
For the sake of your mental health, turn off your TV, then practice good
personal hygiene, go about your daily life and enjoy, as the old pioneers
used to say, every day you have above ground. Our Earth may be hazardous to
our health, but it is one beautiful place to live.

Bird Flu Overtakes HIV and Global Warming

THE MEDICAL OP---PLANET EARTH
OCTOBER 20, 2005. OCTOBER 20, 2005. This op can be looked at in a number of
ways from a number of levels:
the profit motive;
the desire of doctors and researchers to advance their status;
the desire of patients to be controlled and told what to do;
the desire of people to be labeled with a condition as a way of explaining
what they perceive is their unsolved predicament;
the confirmation of a belief system that ascribes a high place to the
concept of illness;
the medical desire to control others;
a political arm of a general op to control and thin out populations;
a rubric under which human rights and freedoms can be curtailed as part of
declared medical emergencies or as a thread in the lattice of "we want to
protect you";
a way of forwarding a parental State;
transnational corporate expansion;
a symbolic method for proving humanitarian concerns.
Note that all these levels and vectors lie outside the natural hope of
giving and receiving healing.
I want to mention briefly the overall medical op as a doorway into the future.
For many, the psychiatric revolution of the 20th century replaced religion
as a path to salvation. With the onset of chemical treatment as the
preferred choice (as opposed to talk therapy), it was envisioned that the
brain itself would be experimented on to tease out the ways of creating
happiness and ecstasy---or outright submission to higher authority.
Actually, this experiment always ends up with submission---because chemical
dependency is a condition in which the hoped-for state of mind is
controlled by dosage and substance.
Therefore, the person ingesting the chemical is on the string.
See, for example, the use of Soma in Aldous Huxley's novel, Brave New
World. Inevitable moments of confusion and fear and sadness in the great
utopia are dealt with by a visit to the government pharmacy branch office,
where the drug is dispensed.
Of course, back in the real world, much education (operant conditioning) is
necessary before the general populace believes that a drug will produce
steady-state happiness.
For this we have the entire underground street-drug "promotion," as well as
the above ground medical propaganda---"we're getting there, we just need
more money for research."
The political premise of drug-into-happiness is: YOU CAN BE HAPPY
REGARDLESS OF EXTERNAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
This translates into: you may be living in conditions of severe injustice
and slavery, but the drug will make you rise above all that.
You might say this is the wet dream of the slavemaster. To have a
population brought into line in this fashion.
Wave One of the new psychiatric revolution was the introduction of all
those drugs which could loosely be called tranquilizers.
Wave Two was the onset of the antidepressants, particularly the class of
substances called SSRIs, beginning with Prozac.
To be somewhat ruthless about it, the entire revolution could have been
short-circuited by merely making all the tranquilizers, antidepressants,
and street drugs completely legal.
No prescription necessary. Just walk into a store and buy anything from
heroin and Thorazine to Paxil.
After a generation or two, people would have seen that repeated ingestion
brings with it major debilitation.
I liken the effect, at best, to that noticed by many long-term pot smokers.
As the years roll by, more substance is needed to simply stay even. And
there is a dulling outcome. The mind does not work as quickly as it once
did. The former sheen of perception, in which the world appears to be a
joyous place, recedes.
At worst, I would point to what happens to many, many inmates of psych
wards. They incur grave brain damage.
However, if you keep people going with the carrot and the stick, they can
be maintained in a hopeful state: many of the drugs are only permitted with
a doctor's script; you can be arrested for possession of street drugs; new
research looks very promising.
This is the classic squeeze play. Give a little, hold back a little, paint
a rosy picture of the future.
Unfortunately, most of planet Earth is unwilling to go through the damage
and discover the truth that complete freedom of choice will bring. People
want to be told what to do.
On this basis, a Brave New World can be ushered in, with a limp, as it were.
For every Glaxo-Paxil scandal (undisclosed severe addictive properties of
the drug, suicides), we get a thousand press releases printed as articles
by the press. These releases pump up the latest breakthrough discoveries in
the area of treating depression and other feelings.
The old whipsaw: yes it could be dangerous, but we are monitoring the
situation, and we have researchers working on better chemicals---so go
ahead and stick your toe in the water.
You might incur A or B or C or D or E, all dangerous adverse effects, so
ask your doctor if XYZ is right for you.
Give a little, hold back a little.
With complete legalization of, and easy access to, all drugs, the
devastation might slightly outflank what we have now, but in the long run
people would discover for themselves that the paradise to be attained
through chemistry is an illusion.
Insights? Changes in behavior? Better perception of reality? You might get
there now and then through some drug taking, but you will also get to the
point where you, on your own hook, view the limits and experience the
downside.
And if you disagree with this assessment, you're free to go full steam
ahead, for as long as you want to.
My point is, the "masters" want to move us into a Brave New World, and they
know that the road to the goal is paved with the kinds of restrictions and
lies that only whet the appetite.
Medical boards, the FDA, cops, prescription pads, so-called addiction
clinics, jails groaning with drug offenders, the tightly built street-drug
cartels under the throne of banks and financiers, the whole medical
apparatus itself---all these exist to do more than make profit. They are
the alternating yes and no of a game that (like a sexual tease) makes
people want to move forward under the chemical banner into a new garden of
Eden. The dream. The great dream.
A dream to be controlled by Them, just as the gateway to heaven itself is
controlled, for its registered aspirants, by one professional priesthood or
another.
Slaves ask, Am I permitted? Will I get away with it? Will I be given the
diagnosis that leads to the prescription so I can get the drug?
In other words, Brave New World is possible only when the People are
juvenile, passive, expectant, resentful, cunning, and stupid.
If the drugs are all made legal, after some horrific damage (which society
is already experiencing under the current system), people will wake up and
say: WE TOOK THE DRUGS ON OUR OWN; WE THOUGHT THEY WERE GREAT FOR A WHILE,
THEN WE REALIZED THEY HAD HORRIBLE EFFECTS; THEN WE STOPPED. IT WAS ALL OUR
OWN DOING.
And if you are one of those people who decide that pot or Prozac is just
what you want forever, you go ahead and imbibe until the cows come home.
It's your decision.
It's exactly when you strip away the illusion of CERTAIN KNOWLEDGE RESIDING
IN THE MINDS OF THE APPOINTED AUTHORITIES that you open the door. You open
the door to the possibility of the slaves becoming free. Free from what?
The drugs? Free from having to believe in the infallibility of the
authorities.
Glaxo. Pfizer. Merck. Lilly. I have a deal for you. No more lawsuits aimed
at collecting millions and billions from you for unleashing wave after wave
of toxic drugs on the population. Those suits are OVER. In return, we make
ALL your drugs legal for adults. Any adult can walk into a shop and buy
your pills. No doctor. No prescription. Just cash.

THE MEDICAL OP---PLANET EARTH
OCTOBER 20, 2005. OCTOBER 20, 2005. This op can be looked at in a number of
ways from a number of levels:
the profit motive;
the desire of doctors and researchers to advance their status;
the desire of patients to be controlled and told what to do;
the desire of people to be labeled with a condition as a way of explaining
what they perceive is their unsolved predicament;
the confirmation of a belief system that ascribes a high place to the
concept of illness;
the medical desire to control others;
a political arm of a general op to control and thin out populations;
a rubric under which human rights and freedoms can be curtailed as part of
declared medical emergencies or as a thread in the lattice of "we want to
protect you";
a way of forwarding a parental State;
transnational corporate expansion;
a symbolic method for proving humanitarian concerns.
Just cash.
