Can anyone elaborate on mental symptoms of absinthum [wormwood] or give any
cases illustrating the same?

Dear Andrew, I don't think i can add more than what Anouk has offered but
Clarke does say that this remedy has been proved but a number of the
symptoms are taken from observations made on Absinthe drinkers.
There is epilepsy where consciousness is not entirely lost - falling
backwards. But consciousness is lost during the hallucinations and delirium.
Loss of memory after attack of epilepsy. Exhilaration is followed by the
horrible delusions. Makes grimaces (this might have something to do with the
taste - in plant form it tastes even more bitter than Rue - Ruta Grav)
There is insanity, idiocy, brutality, does not care about living or dying
although desires death during convalescence, wants nothing to do with
anybody. There is also stupor alternating with extreme violence. (There is
an obvious theme of two extremes here - exhilaration/horrible delusions and
stupor/violence).
Boericke also mentions Kleptomania
Hope useful, Joy Lucas
